Re: Where/how was this picture taken?

That's a Belgian Air Force crew. The pilot on the left is not a copilot, it's the military rank of Captain-Commander.

Just but a few months ago, they did the same exercise with AVRO Yep, I was approach controller then 8) And the Rapcon (Radar Approach Control) is just between the 2 runways... ideal spotting place but I didn't have my camera then... Some more pictures (also some taken during work at the Rapcon) are...

A319 SNBA @ EBBE Beauvechain last Thursday

Last Thursday, OO-SSM came over to EBBE Beauvechain in the late afternoon for some VFR training. Made 12 t&g's in total. This pic is taken from the balcony of the tower during work... so quality is not that good but I don't think there are many SNBA pics on a military airbase  In the backg...

Did you know that Belgium must have a SAR helicopter unit to fit with NATO standards? It's primarily the ICAO Convention of Chicago held in 1944 that lays down the rules for Search and Rescue. ICAO Annex 12 states: "Contracting states shall arrange for the establishment and provision of search...

EBBE TMA still class B (exept TMA4 but has nothing to do with the notam) and EBBE CTR class D. I don't see why they would change class B airspace into class C, but I think they mean that all uncontrolled airspace (class G) inside the 30NM radius becomes C. That would explain why a flightplan is need...

2x VC-25????? (both AF1's???) Actually "Air Force One" is a callsign, not a plane. It's the callsign given to whatever USAF aircraft the President is on. Suppose that he's brought to his 747 with a USN helicopter, the helo's callsign will be "Navy One". Same goes for the Army or...

Saturday around 1530L I was in a traffic jam on the Torhoutsesteenweg (damn works  ) and had a landing Evergreen International B747 just a few feet in front of me, followed by a Saudi Arabian MD11 a few feet above me. Very impressive!
