Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
By the EWD tomorrow we know if the permit will be prolonged and which will be the extra conditions. EWD? And that permit is a certainty. The Flemish government will not block the second economic pool of our country, esp. minister Demir and her party. My guess that - if their are any - extra conditi...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Of course Ethiopian should be on top.
Yearly 15mio PAX to and from Addis.
In Canada they serve only Toronto
US: JFK, Newark, Chicago, Atlanta, Washinton.
LAX and Houston stopped.
Well, anyway SN and LH colleagues ate not even on the list
AF/KL are far ahead of them.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
The strike is of course bad news, and detrimental for the reputation and future of SN Still, the first to blame is the German managent. Since many years now they have desinvested in SN and given almost no chance to the airline. If you buy a company you have the moral duty to make it work. Germans an...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Spohr is very late to discover potential BRU/SN. By now AF/KLM is the absolute master for Africa. They cover almost every country in Africa daily or double daily. Eg KLM carries more PAX to Kigali.than SN. Same Accra. To fill planes to English speaking West Af. Countries, you need connections to UK....

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
All nice explanations from LH fans.
In the meantime their reputation is suffering a lot from all the strikes. OS,LH, SN.
Social climate is rotten and talk is they will change name to StrikeHansa..
Even with my lifetime Senstor Card i avoid them..

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Wizzair 5 flights a week from BRU in summer season.
700 to 800 PAX a week, each direction offered.
Or will they fly via Hellhole FRA ?

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
I am sure Kl, AF, FR find this good Belgian joke.
How to drain Hundreds of Thousands.of PAX from/to BRU .
Actually its a Getman joke.
LH is doing their very best to chase customers away. Instead of using the BRU hub to steal customers from NL and France.
Yeah, good German joke.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Probably within this year Dorothea will also be replaced by yet another CEO. He or She will also make nice interviews (more growth, more destinations, more frequencies etc.. like Dorothea said in Luchtvaartnieuws interview). Opposite will happen and foreign companies will continue to take more marke...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Simply. Focus is everything that fits into a A320 size. P2P Model. Haha. It means dropping the business PAX and go in full competition with Ryanair &Wizz ???? And this with strikes and strikes because pilots, crews, etc are exhausted and run away??? This is not a strategy, this is panic-football.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
LH is flying some regional routes to MUC, where there is no real LCC competition. Brussels is a high LCC spot and SN is competing against Ryanair and Wizz. So would it make sense to wet lease A320 to fill it? What would be the yield expectations? The local market in Belgium is like that - if you cl...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Who said it's not good? Only questions about whether it is realistic or not... for now. Somehow and anyway in some time the long haul fleet has to be replaced. On a certain moment there will be no A330 anymore to be transferred within the group. The same for the A319 and A320 who starts to be old. ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
It''s a real crisis at this moment. Belgian pilots, mostly copilots, are leaving for other skies (major airlines, in the Middle East,...). Hiring new guys is difficult. Especially at the conditions Belgian airlines offer. After learning this news, Aviation24.be had a conversation with a Brussels Ai...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Interview with SN Ceo on Luchtvaartnieuws. Very general comment re future renewal and extension of fleet. Maybe more intteresting for SN and BRU is the ',promotion' of Dieter Vranckx to COO of LH group. Maybe he can help CS to discover BRU as a Hub, and SN as potentially as good a partner airline as...

Three-day flight attendant strike between 28 February and 1 March, the never-ending discussion between management and unions. And another hot Summer coming up. You can have all the plans that you want, first you need happy staff. https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/lufthansa-group/brussels-airlines/...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
BRU is a disgrace. One of the worst airports in Europe. Only the Connector and Pier A look more or less up to date. Rest is Sub standard. Ugly. Obsolete.Dirty. Worst ? Over 25 000 reviews on Google. Not 1 or 10 reviews but over 25 000. Average : 4/5 . I think enough to have real opinions abt ...
