Re: BRU Summer 2013 - Latest News: routes, airlines
I think that if we do a little analysis, those changes made by TG can reveal another picture. In Summer 2012, TG was operating the BRU route thrice weekly with the B777-200ER with the following configuration: 30C/262Y. The carrier was offering a total of 876 seats per week. In Winter 2013, TG is ope...

 http://www.lesoftonline.net/pages/phil.php?id=1107 Apparently the new company will be indeed named AirDC. According to this article the new airline will operate four Bae 146s and two B737-800s. The Bae 146 would mainly fly domestic routes while the B738 would fly regional routes to countries...

Hainan will start using its new A330s to BRU in October or early November at the latest. Moreover this winter Hainan should still fly to BRU four times a week with two flights going via BUD (though not mentioned on the Brussels Airport website). So this is better than the two weekly flights we had l...

Flights to DEL can now be booked on Brussels Airlines website (SN8125/9W225). However their route map isn't updated and no mention of Jet Airways in their website. Moreover it seems that SN aren’t codesharing on the BRU-YYZ leg while they have done it when Etihad flew the route. So why? Is it just a...

Another good news for BRU: Ethiopian will be doubling the current service to BRU going from three weekly flights to six weekly flights! Three flights are still routed via CDG while the other three are routed via FRA. http://www.africanflyer.com/2007/09/01/ethiopian-to-drop-amsterdam-up-bruss...

Jet Airways & Brussels Airlines partnership any updates?
Well 9W has been flying to BRU for almost three weeks now and no announcement, advertising have been made from SN for the new service to BOM (no press release, no updates on their website). At first when looking on the Brussels Airport website I could see that SN put their code on the BRU-BOM route ...

It is nice to see such enthusiasm in this forum about our national airport. But please be a bit more realistic about the future long-haul airlines coming to BRU. Those times when all the major airlines were coming are past. Why would Garuda or Malaysian come back when most of their current and past ...

Re: BruAir still cheating on taxes?
Every new airline coming to BRU has reduction on the airport taxes for the first year of operation. So it is normal that U2 or Sky Europe can offer lower taxes than Brussels Airlines.fcw wrote:BruAir: BRU-GVA: tax €37,00
Easy Jet: €20,00

Well as the CEO has stated it depends if the new model works. So if it works I can see the following order: A mix of A318/A319/A320 replacing the B737s and some RJ100s for more capacity and enabling SN to open new routes to North Africa or the Middle-East. A few A330-300s though Airbus might offer a...

Well first of all welcome in this forum. I suppose that you've heard that Etihad has stopped flying between BRU and Toronto (I think it was last week) in favor of a direct Abu-Dhabi-Toronto. But EY has kept BRU as a dedicate destination which shows that the flight is doing well from BRU. Etihad is f...

Or rather BRU-FRA on LH and BRU-FCO on AZ with an ET code? I think that's what Atlantis meant. It shows that ET is doing rather well but it would be nicer if ET puts more direct flights out of BRU. Maybe ET prefers to concentrate on its main routes to FRA and FCO or is just lacking of proper aircra...

Here is another good news for BRU (less for Bruair...): Sky Europe is upgrading its current routes out of BRU: BRU-VIE is going to get a second daily flight (one in the morning and one in the evening). BRU-PRG and BRU-BUD are becoming daily. Sky Europe in the longer run wants to open a new base here...

Very simple: connecting passengers. If LH flights out of BRU are working well it's because of the weak long-haul network out of BRU. So connecting passengers are taking an onward flights (mostly long-haul) with LH (and Star Alliance) to destinations around to globe. In this case during a holiday mor...

After successive good news for BRU this year, here is a less pleasant news: starting June 12 Hainan Airlines will stop flying to PEK every Tuesday. B.air: after Camair now looking into other airlines?
Well it seems that Brussels Airlines is interested in other regional African airlines. I've read today an article in La Libre saying that SN was interested in Rwandair Express. The Rwandese government for the privatisation of this airline has retained SN and another contender. I also came across thi...

Well that's a nice surprise and again good news for BRU! I would have though that UA would deploy this B777 to destinations in Asia or in the Middle East where traffic is booming. Those B777s are also offering the Economy Plus product, which I highly recommend especially for the additional legroom i...
