Have not heard about a 747 waterbomber, but the DC-10 waterbomber is certainly there:

Thanks, Andries. Your photo says June 11. Was this a
practice run? I thought the show didn't start until the 12th?
If there were spectators, what was the reaction?

Pitch-up on the nose, eh? I wonder: From what ...

Of course, the IL-76 waterbomber performed at
the Paris Air Show sometime in the 90s.

Last news on the 747 seems as printed on their website
- 04 testing. Liquids loads from various altitudes were run.

Flight International reported the 747 was set for more testing;
even the possibility of ...

Compare, if you will, a/c dimensions and advertised liquids loads.

See also methods of liquids delivery and look for liquids under pressure.

Think what challenges liquids under pressure present.

I had a hand in it, yes.

I provided the basics and did the editing
but Profind did the piecing together and
1st draft, for which I thanked them .....
profusely.

Had I known there was a chance the IL-76
waterbomber was showing, I would have
put something together, I suppose, but that's
Profind's ...

waterbombers at the Paris Air Show??

Reports have it that there will be demos from the DC-10 and the 747 waterbombers.

The question remains:

Will the Russians show with the IL-76 waterbomber, said to be most
spectacular in show at Zeltweg?

Stay tuned for developments.

Meanwhile, the IL-76 waterbomber campaign continues: http ...

I'm surely not an av fuel specialist.

I do know that there's a lot more to
refined fuel pricing than crude cost
so you cannot do a simple ratcheting
up effect when crude goes up.

By the look of Boeing's forecasts, fuel
costs, as these affect ticket prices, don't
matter much. The demand for an ...

Wikipedia should be right on this.

Q: Is there some central place where
objectively gathered data based
on tests is available?

A: Probably not. What purpose would
such an exercise/agency serve?

No such thing as airplane races.

With the latest announcements (P2Vs restored to
service), this brings the US fleet to 60% of
original airplane count strength.

Weight restrictions were imposed post-grounding
so that number is likely to be smaller.
