Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
Most likely the 319 leaving the fleet and being replaced with 320NEOs in the coming years won't need new colors.

Re: BRU Summer 2022: news, new routes, airlines
At the end of the day it's all about economics and strategy. If Warsaw would have been a Cash cow before, there would have been no reason not to operate it. Strategically the question is if there is a threat within the group- the answer is no. There are enough hubs within LH were the group can make ...

Re: BRU Summer 2022: news, new routes, airlines
Unlikely that somebody would fly to the US via WAW whilst LH has the JV Partner operating from BRU. One important thing is the type of demand - if public sector workers are coming to Belgium, they would get centrally booked tickets for LOT. And LH is anyhow dominating the transfer pax volumes in the...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
The idea is to have an all A320 fleet, not to serve again every minimarket. In the US - New routes would be checked based on transfer pax from Afrika. Leisure markets still underserved due to Th Cook bankrupcy. So not unlikely to see more activities on leisure routes were 320 size makes perfectly se...

Re: SWISS in 2021
Depends as well on the sweet spot of time and pax flow and available aircraft. Now it's easier as a large portion of the 321 is not flying.
With an all 320 fleet in the future, sone mid day flights could end up at Dolomiti.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
The biggest threat in such discussions is to look only on cost and not to the benefits. PR is a cost effective way to create brand awareness and a logo change is a good reason to get unpaid brand exposure to the media, have a check where you stay in brand positioning at airports, booking portals et...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
for a company with a natural range of sales around 400 mil EUR these are peanuts and not wasted money at all.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Nothing new. LH still has 30 Options for A220s from the beginning of the C series program - initially targeted to replace SNs AVROs. Somebdy was choosing another option whilst LH was still a minority shareholder. The mainlines 319 are ageing and need replacement and most likely the CRJs will exit th...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The group has other priorities. Securing and increasing the market positions in PRG and ARL as expansion markets for Eurowings. Wetleases are currently politically sensitive, as they would be perceived as "external" employment opportunities. And for SN they might not make economically sense...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
There are enough group A320 fam parked or in storage, so no need for wetleases.
LH has to many 319, so unlikely that they would be keen to add more.
And between flying and flying profitble there is a sensitive difference.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
With the diverted JFK-flight debacle in mind, is it even possible to maintain a reliable long-haul network with only 9 planes ? (rhetoric question) :| Of course. Otherwise, let's go to major hubs only and leave peanuts airlines with short haul, only. The world is not perfect - those ordering brand ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Good to hear the re-activation of the 9th A330 and old routes resumed. I am still hoping for some more news as mentioned the other day, which would include new routes for SN. I would also like to see more cooperation between SN and some other star alliance members if LH agrees, although they have s...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Planes get new painting every 6-7 years. And the transition will be done at the time each aircraft needs anyhow a new visit to the paint shop, regardless of the livery. To me, timing is ok : - there is a new positioning as network airline - 2023 there are 3 committed A320 NEOs coming, PR wise good ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
How many of these brand judgements are driven rather by personal frustration, other (ethnic) considerations and spotter judgements having nothing in common with the real life of the company which flyes the mass of average people? If i am looking to the actual design, i can see some similarities to t...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
I don't understand why there should be any Belgian flag or colors on an SN plane? Other legacy carriers don't have it... KL has no Dutch flag, nor the 'national' coloŕ (orange), neither has LH, OS,... Air Belgium does, but is has the name 'Belgium' in it, as does AF, IB, AZ,... The 'Belgian identit...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
If they really want to cut costs then don’t do a new livery at all...people are complaining of not getting their refund, staff are complaining of lower salary and then they decide to do this? And literally copy paste of two extremely similar logos that you can actually get sued for in real life. Ho...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Maybe the reason why so many planes (the CX one, the EW one,...) weren't painted in SN colors, was because they knew a new livery and logo was coming? There was no point in paining these aircraft in a c/s that was going away in the near future. Exactly my thoughts as well. I believe the rebranding ...
