Re: Air Belgium in 2021

SN does not fly today to ROB/FNA, and not exactly in the same area over Africa, but what do you think about having a "AirBelgium241" and a "BeeLine241" on the same freq .... ? As long as the call signs are sufficiently separate having the same flight number is OK. In either case...

Re: BRU Summer 2022: news, new routes, airlines

450 seats in a 777? Don't count on me aboard! Mixed bag.... Small premium cabins, large coach cabin make up for a high passenger count overall. Also, coach has a shorter pitch than most, including Air France's Caribbean 777s - but the same as United's. On the other hand, Premium Economy and Busines...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

Belgian would have been a better name... and indeed, why let the b go... this was appealing and strong : b l’île Brussels, Belgium, b xxx, etc... The vast majority of Belgians will know the name of "their" national airline even if it rebranded to Air Uluru. Brussels Airlines' brand is mor...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

Totally incredible. And utterly shameful. While many former employees are having to find their way in a new walk of life, and Belgian taxpayers are waiting for the refund of their (already unacceptable) 250M+ funding, this mediocre company finds no better way to spend our (not its) money than to de...

American Airlines will receive in 2023 the new A321XLR. They will fly from several American cities such as Philadelphia, Boston, Charlotte and Chicago to thinner secondary European airports. Important in here is that they look again at Brussels Airport to launch such flight. Fingers crossed Would A...

Yes indeed French and English is the most used languages in CRL are you surprised, was you maybe expecting that everyone speak Polish maybe? By the way have a try to speak French in our dear National Airport you would be surprised how people react to you. And can we speak about Antwerp Aerodrome? D...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

The latest press release of SN regarding S22 offer is much blablabla about the usual seasonal market destinations (ex-TC Belgium) but it indicates that YUL route has been dumped… :| :?:  Air Canada is committed to the route and beefing up YUL as a North American hub, adding more and better-ti...

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-LGG-OST in 2021

Ok but normally they do a straight go around I presume. I don’t know the pax on board but they must have been frightened by the short turn. I live nearby and never saw a plane do this manoeuvre. If traffic permits, this is perfectly possible and more (fuel+time) efficient than a standard go-around....

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021

So why should be LH interested to give up the Belgian market after being very patient for one and a half decades? No idea whether LH plans to give up on SN - no insider info. However how "patient" LH has been or how much they may have invested in the past does not matter (look up "su...

Air Belgium 132 ATL-LGG on Aug 28 diverted JFK after holding several minutes above ACY. Diversion to JFK is certainly not coincidental to the airport having the largest inventory of A330 spares on the East Coast save ATL.

Re: Longtail rebranded to JetOneX?

I believe they are distinct legal entities still with a symbiotic relationship. Longtail provides planes and crews, JetOneX sells the space and sets the schedule. Not the first time planes operated by someone else sport a JetOneX decal.

No interest in defending Klasjet and its business practices, but also I believe the end does not justifies the means and so... 2. KlasJet repeats the same lies as they did before (like "detained" iso interrogated), and they now add new lies. Example: quote: " On 1 July, Belgian offici...

Re: BRU Summer 2021: news, new routes, airlines

I understand but I hope they will improve because it's a matter of competition with other airports and airlines. I'd say get used to it. As the number of passengers with lounge access was increasing before Covid, most airlines reacted not by expanding their lounges, but adding access restrictions. ...

Even if the 4 "Eurowings" aircrafts are under the SN AOC, there are not to be used for BRU ops as they don't have the same leasing contract than the others, they can only fly for Brussels Airlines in case of iregularities, AOG etc. The terms of the lease impose a blanket ban on scheduled ...

FRH was not really close to "Challenge" anymore ! JAF isn’t very close to ‘Beauty’, nor is TFL phonetically similar to ‘Orange’. I don’t think phonetic similarity is a requirement... 2.2 a) A three letter designator should reflect to the maximum extent practicable, the name of the aircraf...

Do they need the crew rest on flights to Africa? If not, they can remove the MCR and reclaim the cargo space. It's nothing if not a specialized container after all.

Whats the goal of those hops in BRU ? Going to DUB, the stop in BRU was probably because the aircraft needed to be officially imported in Belgium (or the EU) before landing in DUB for its paint job. As for the why, could have to do with oddities around the importation or registration of Belgian air...

Re: Boeing 777 and PW4000S

The FAA is ordering the acceleration of fan blade inspections for 777-200s with PW-4000 engines (772A). The accelerated schedule means the inspection is due before next flight for some aircraft, however Boeing has come out with a recommendation that all 772As be grounded before the inspection anyway...
