Re: BRU Summer 2026: news, new routes, airlines

Just as side note. Travel demand from Belgium to The States, and especially New York, dropped with 20%.
Is that based on total enplanements from BRU to NYC, or trips originating in BRU only or some other data?

Overall, it is factually correct to say that less Europeans are visiting the US, but ...

Air freight demand traditionally peaks end of November, early December when anything and everything that can fly cargo does. From then on to Christmas, demand drops precipitously, especially from Asia to Europe and the US.

I doubt that the 321XLR is a real priority at the moment. My arguments would be following:
I actually agree with most of your arguments. If you read my post in the context of the post I replied to, there may be room for the A321XLR if Lufthansa makes it part of its fleet strategy, and the pre ...

Re: Lufthansa in 2025

Tbh, I find $400m for just training planes a lot of money and unsensical.
When the budget is approaching the $14 billions mark, another $400 millions isn't that much. More likely, they will initially be used for training as SNC doesn't have the capacity to refurbish seven aircraft concurrently ...

If BRU can build more gates for the morning bank and the pre-clearance facility, the A321XLR makes sense. Destinations like MDW, BOS, PHL, LGA, or MIA would be worth considering.

Amazing that this got the media attention that it's getting.
About 5,000 aircraft need a software update before Sunday to remain legal. A significant headache even if the update itself takes 15 minutes.
Up to 1,000 aircraft will be grounded while the elevator aileron computer is replaced.

If we speak about the US carriers, their main markets are the coast to coast routes, formerly 757 driven.
But...Delta will try secondary routes to Europe, formerly not working even seasonal or low frequency.
IAG has 12 aircraft ordered, so let's not overestimate.

For American and United, that ...

Why do they phase out there A330 200 when you know it's difficult to get new deliveries?
New aircraft induction and fleet retirements are typically planned years in advance. Air France certainly has contracts in place with binding dates on when the A330s need to be delivered to their new owner(s ...

It's crazy for the moment. A400M are from time to time half parked in the old C130 hangars for maintenance, while in their state-of-the-art hangar is space.
Belgian Army forgot to include in their budget cost of moving equipment into the new hangar. Is it really crazy?
Or they don't need the ...

Actual load factor +/-82%, the maximum JRO can add is 7500ish pax, 20ish % transit: max 1500 extra transit or 5 a day.
Curious, where does the 20% transit figure comes from? I seem to remember from Cirius or Air Service that number is over 50% for sub-Sahara flights.

Also, most of United's ...

Displacing one from morning to evening potentially creates opening for a new one in the morning, this is not about swapping two flights already scheduled.
