Well. It’s quite simple. A turn radius is a function of bank angle and the speed^2. It’s got nothing to do with it being a 787 or an A350. They both would use around the same angle of bank for a departing turn (FDs typically initially limit 25 degrees of bank).
Airlines will have different thrust ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2026
LHG is just not present in Orly. There's no added value to ORY for network airlines. If a pax is going to fly for on a more than 10 hour-journey with a connecting flight, having a "longer" route to reach the airport is not going to be a problem. Plus, should a flight be canceled, there are more ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2025
Air Europa will only operate the JFK flight. So unless there’s a last minute AOG to the 789, it wont be canceled anymore. At least not so that it can be dispatched to another flight.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2025
There's not much to train to be fair. It's essentially the same aircraft. Maybe a couple of extra procedures which could be implemented in the recurrent training, like the Single Engine Taxi-Out that is now being trained in the sim. Long Haul Cabin Crew are already trained for mixed fleet, so they ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2025
Well, the recent cancellations are mx related. AOG due to an event requiring heavy maintenance, external manpower and components (an intervention that is typically done during C Check). Finding both the engineers and material required took time, but they are working on it. There will be ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2025
To all the “I know better” people here. What do you exactly want SN to do?
SN is known in the industry for its resilience, it showed during the 2016 attacks for instance. It can only Ideal with what it’s given or what it can get. It is no surprise that there is a shortage of spare parts ...

Indeed a mistake. While the A321 (XLR/LR or Normal range) was/is a project internally worked on by SN and LHG, it's more for long term perspective to cope with slot cap imposed by the Goverment(s). There's no phase in to be expected on the medium-haul sector for 2025, except for the 4 A220 wet ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
According to the open jobs on the company's website and some press rumors, it seems that SN would get the A321F fleet flying for LH cargo, from Cityline.
May also mean that A320fam is rather the forward path and not the 737MAX - which was described last week by the OS CCO as likely to go to ...

If you are passionate, than try to build a basic sound knowledge.
So what findings do you expect by comparing % from company A vs company B? Just your unreflected "Management is bad" thinking?
Try to use your brain first and realize how many planned and unplanned variables would influece ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Even when there is no shortage, wide-body engines are too expensive for small airlines to keep a spare or two just in case. You can buy a few used A320s for the cost of a new Trent 700.
But anyway you need engines to make your plane's fly.
So you have to use it anyway a day or another so ...

Not so fast! The # 10 that was announced months ago is still at BRU, waiting for a "SN Brussels Airlines" sticker.
Not so fast what ? That's what was announced, I'm not making up things... The time it'll take is another story.
If you're talking about OO-SFP, there's a picture posted in ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Reliance on wet leases as a strategy concerns me not a little. This is not a strategy shared by the other (so-called) full-service carriers Brussels wants to compete with, and for a reason: pretty hard to maintain consistent hard/soft product standards. If wet leases are not strategically deployed ...

Hi!
I’ve heard rumors saying the airport will close down during the summer for work. Does someone have info on that regard? I see flights are available with TUI, so I’m confused.
Good evening!

Re: Impact of the coronavirus crisis on aviation
Flights are vital ?
Maybe the most vital thing is to remain alive ? No ?
But there is a market for russian roulette, we can admit that
Of course not literally vital, but very much needed.
Absolutely correct, BUT apply social distancing on board and increase fares to do so.
Putting people on ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
I fear SN won't able to operate any flight by July... In La Libre, multiple sources are stating that CS is ready to let SN go bust, claiming that SN will not be able to reimburse the loan and won't be profitable for a long time, if ever. The absence of agreement between the unions and the management ...
