Hello Liebensd,

What you are looking for in a farming engine is torque. It's achieved by using larger engine parts, moving slower, with higher inertia.

That kind of engine will have a slower response though. Hence the use of smaller, lighter parts in high speed cars.

Actually, if you could look ...

(Sorry, I downloaded the first to summarize it and missed the second one)

No conclusions can be drawn so far, from the results of the enquiry. All explanations that have been given ...

The article from "le Figaro" is not very clear about when, exactly, the autopilot was engaged. I understand it's been engaged after the take off sequence had been completed.

The article describes this manoeuvre as normal: "Comme sur tout avion de ligne, le pilote automatique peut être enclenché peu ...

A summary

Pilot and co-pilot were both experienced: they had respectively 500 and 250 hours on type.

Take off sequence was normal. Procedure when flying from Sharm el-Sheik includes a slight climbing turn due east to clear the Sinaï relief, then a north-west course to Cairo.

As the plane reached ...

I've been driving Land Rovers for the last 15 years (Series III, then Defenders). I just sold my Defender and I drive a 1992 Golf now, but I still drive an old 1952 Minerva TT (Ex ABL) now and then, wich is technicaly a Series I Land Rover with a steel body.

She'd left her car in a busy street and, after a few minutes, somebody spotted the note. Police, fire dept and explosive specialists got there whithin moments and ...

Multi - Single

Good evening,

On most single engine prop planes, rotation would be clockwise, as seen from the cockpit.

As for multiengine prop planes (2 engines), some have both props rotating clockwise, some have one rotating clockwise and the other, well, rotating the other way to neutralize torque and ...

One could write:

"The only thing history teaches us, is that we don't learn from history".

or

"The one lesson we might draw from history is that we never draw lessons from it".

or ...

How NOT to land the MD-80

I was told this about landings:

If you survive it, then it's a good landing.
If the plane can still be used after it, then it's a very good one.

Well, then this landing is a good one, I guess...

Well done...

Nice logo!

Only "problem", If I dare say so, would be the name.

Popul Air reads [Popyoul-R] in french (my mother tongue), and well, "une popiouille" is the name we give to the very-young-large-head-no-arm-no-legs form of the frog, just after they hatch.

Sorry, couldn't resist to ...

This morning on Belgian radio

I've just heard this during the press review on "La Une" radio. Journalist quoted "Le Monde":

"During the climb, the plane started banking slightly to the right. The banking increased gradually as the plane continued it's climb. At 1.700 m ASL, the plane starded to loose altitude. At that point ...

I've not learned anything new about the case, except the salary of Sobelair's F/A's, wich was not much (altough Mr Aldo Vastapan claimed it was 10 to 25% over the normal wages).

I felt deeply for the F/A's on the program. Hope everything comes right for them in the future.

I'm afraid I do smoke. I'll have to quit someday. Acually, I did quit once and didn't smoke one for three years...
