Re: Brussels Airlines in 2019
I'll just give my 2cents regarding the off-topic issue of why Jacques Brel should or shouldn't be on another plane of SN. He was one of the few (if not the only) Francophone singer that made the effort to sing in Flemish. I so not understand why would he be so controversial on the north of the taalg...

Re: BRU Summer 2018: news, new routes, airlines
If the schedule and the date is out, this seems a valid flight. Any confirmation ? At the moment, there si no official confirmation. The schedule, the flight number and the launch date were posted here: https://forum.fly-ra.com/threads/blue-air-discutii.38/page-264 As it seems that more then one fo...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
@Sia, I apologize for having maybe an exaggerated reaction. However, branding is a sensible issue and has to be carefully handled. BTW, I found this (and it has no link to Africa, but to my country): https://s9.postimg.org/tc6kerx27/00298-sabena-tarom-bruxelles.jpg Let's keep Brussels Airlines...bas...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Let's not forget from where is started: Sabena si better known and respected in Africa then other brands... How couldn't be "more respected" if it would felt "oppressively neo-colonialist? It would imply that Africans are unable to decide with their mind what they respect and what not...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Those in favor of SABENA, because it would still be a recognised and respected brand in certain parts of Africa... It seems to me this is a kind of nostalgic, neo-colonial vision. As if Africans aren't yet living in 21st century and don't know better. Yes, we all know that Sabena name is racist and...

Re: Wizzair in 2018
Wizz is flying already since long ago to CRL - from Sofia, Budapest, Skopje, Warsaw Chopin, Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Timisoara, Ljubljana. I see that W6 is not very well known in Belgium and other Western European markets because their main strategy was many years to open bases only in the on ...

Re: Wizzair in 2018
Why is this new base so important ? Because it opens a completely new chapter for Wizzair. They are not any more the harmless Eastern European ULCC. And it's not going to end here. The day when Wizz will touchdown on BRU is not so far away, mark my words...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Last year I tried to buy a ticket for BRU-MXP, using my Romanian debit card. It was not possible. I called the Customer Service and they told me I can do the transaction online only with a Belgian or Italian card, for the route. they recommended me to go to a tourism agency when I'll be in Belgium. ...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
Will the EU agree on the monopoly position at the airport ? I doubt that ... There is already at least one such case I know of. Bacau Airport (BCM) in Romania was modernized and is operated by Blue Air (BMS). The entity that manages the airport must offer the same conditions to all interested opera...

Re: FlyValan - Romanian startup to begin Genoa-Brussels
In fact, there isn't much link with Romania besides the registration of the company and the AOC. All the capital and people involved are from Moldova and Russia. FlyValan seems to be closely related to Valan Cargo, a Moldovan company that operates charter cargo flights in Africa. It's history has li...

Re: VLM Airlines news 2017
Christian Heinzman was general manager of Tarom between 2012-2016. Probably a more important experience for him then Luxair or KLM, because, as he put it, working for the state-owned carrier was harsher then working in Albania or Bangladesh. Among his achievements were reducing loss by 75%. However ...

Re: Ryanair cancels 40-50 flights a day from mid-September to end-October 2017
As Ryanair only does “there and back” flights, with no overnights, you can’t be stranded abroad. Meanwhile at Ryanair: Meanwhile, the fatigue of flying for Ryanair is quite real. When I was there, I was regularly sent out of my base to fly on my days off, and without pay – to distant Ryanair bases ...
