Don't worry about that. The DGAT will stick to it's usual 60MIN for 6 months before giving 90MIN. A very heavy burden for any airline indeed, and unheard of outside Belgium.

Very sad day for Belgian aviation, a company with a relative long history (founded 1996) and a very efficient and lean and mean operation leaving the scene, being absorbed by a far less efficient competitor (just compare the work forces) , who just happened to sit on a pile of cash which was by no m...

For those interested 1. all but one of the Birdy A330 pilots have been offered a contract with SNBA, a handful of them have not taken up the opportunity, preferring to fly elsewhere and make a better career 2. of the administrative staff of Birdy, only three have been offered a contract. All three h...

Someone asked how CityBird did on the MIA route : well, load factor was excellent but CTB still lost whopping amounts of money on the route, and as a fact on MCO as well. This why they were axed, together with LAX. Delsey only found out the same a couple of years later. These are mainly leisure rout...

Small correction : there are of course also only two flights on Tuesdays. Nevertheless, the SN A330's are having a well above average daily utilisation at 13.2 hrs per day, when compared to the world fleet. However the number of sectors flown per day is way above average, the leg between DKR and BJL...

TUI has reportedly prolonged contract with FI for the B767-300ER TF-FIB till October 15th (correction). Maybe it is also cruel to the company/airline, who has invested heavily in the type rating just to see it's investment run off after just a few months ? SNBA is taking over the lease of the 3 Birdy Airlines A330-300 at the end of October. There is no discussion about that.
