Re: SWISS in 2021

Quite interesting bit in Swiss network expansion for summer 2022 : They will operate GVA-BRU on their own metal, competing with SN, and advertising it specifically together with JFK-GVA https://swiss.newsmarket.com/english/press-releases/swiss-further-expands-its-network-for-summer-2022-and-offers-n...

Re: Ryanair in 2016

Ryanair will launch flights from Brussels-Zaventem to Grenoble in France from 17 december to march with a flight every saturday. Talking about that, I may be wrong, but I have the impression that Ryanair doesn't do that much "ski routes" even thought they're supposed to find more winter r...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

One could also apply the Geneva system: everybody who enters the kiss and ride zone has to get a ticket which allows 10 minutes free of charge, and thereafter an expensive parking fee. That's P1 / short term parking. On top, there's another (real) "Kiss and Fly" zone without parking. The ...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

Also, I would like to ask the idiots around here who were against maintaining the pre-screening what justification they have now to still advocate a removal? Because they were* useless. Can you tell which airports in the world do pre-screening before entering the terminal ? I guess next time I'm fl...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

But only for BRU of course! I haven't seen any of the diehard supporters of these (imho stupid, inefficient and dangerous) pre-checks call for them at FRA, AMS, CDG, JFK, ORD etc... 1. You seem to forget the most essential element and that is that ISIS HQ is just down the road from BRU. 2. BRU has ...

Re: Reopening Brussels Airport after the 22/03/2016 terror attacks

As many others, I don't really believe in the efficiency nor effectiveness of whatever theatre is going on now and fear the impact on the airport and Brussels Airlines. But I have not much other options that to travel to/from BRU and will have to do so again next week. What about coming to the aipor...

Re: Ryanair in 2015

Since it's inception, dear passenger, FR had not accepted drivers licenses as a form of valid ID due to the airlines strict security policy (I dont think you need a history lesson about Ireland and UK) Wrong, according to Ryanair Terms and Conditions, drivers licenses are accepted but only for Dome...

Re: Germanwings A320 crash in France

It does, an airline like ryanair (famous for rigorous ID checks at check-in) would have confirmed this way earlier because they are 99% sure about the nationality of the pax on board (...) Just saying, if it takes one more than 48hrs to go public with full confidence about basic 3-letter data on a ...

Re: Automatic check-in removes a process that adds no value whatsoever

So, about the "security" value brought by check in, it looks like all agree there's indeed no advantage between - online check in when entering ID details at that time - automatic check in when you entered your ID details earlier during the booking process. Now, what remains opened is the ...

Re: Automatic check-in removes a process that adds no value whatsoever

In some countries the check-in proces is actually an security requirement which is required by the country's aviation authority .. Uk and Ireland being 2 of them. Are you sure ? It looks like flybe does it , Finnair mentions london as well , it was trialed by British Airways ,... Not to say it's no...

Re: Minimum connecting times at BRU

Would D be Schengen and I International? No, D is Domestic. I guess that this data dates back from when they were flights to ANR (in fact, BRU-ANR was my first flight ...). The exception to DUS and AMS are also strange. If anybody has insight on where this data lies / is maintained, it may explain ...

Re: Minimum connecting times at BRU

Well, I'm surprise by the answers so far. MCT are still very well alive, when buying a connecting ticket from an airline. The airline will then take responsability and hurry up the transfer, rebook the 2nd flight,... When buying 2 single tickets, you're on your own and they're just indicative. If 1s...

Re: Brussels Airlines announces new short haul product

Talking about the difficulties they have to roll out their product properly across the board, the "b.pass" product description still is not updated (name,prices,...) and does not even tell which new class will be used for the flights. It is a kind of a pity for a product that covers a 3-6 ...

Re: Brussels Airlines announces new short haul product

I almost never have to take out a ID card when flying SN, a small detail for me, but appreciated as it make me feel welcome on board (rather then being suspected of fraud). Nothing to do with fraud! It all depends upon the AOC under which the airline is operating. Some CAAs require identity check f...

Re: Brussels Airlines announces new short haul product

In the small but nice detail, in Light & Relax, taking an earlier flight is free of charge. It was not clear at PR time. This can make this fare quite interesting in some cases (e.g. GVA) On comparing the experience with LCC, or between companies, it's not only the product description ... but al...
