Re: BRU Winter 2026 - 2027: news, new routes, airlines
Etihad seems to be on an expansion drift and sending 321LRs throughout major European airports to beef up frequency. Wouldn’t be surprised if also Brussels will soon get a 2nd Daily frequency with the 321LR considering they are already sending one of their highest capacity aircrafts into ...

Really missing links are still DEL, BOM, TPE and ICN in Asia.
I suspect Air India to announce either DEL or BOM for 2026, maybe EVA for TPE (also Star Alliance).
ICN is more dififcult I guess as KE is not Star Alliance.

Dont make up stuff: SN doesn’t pay the volunteers during strikes of weather conditions: they are employees from different departments that 100% voluntarily go and help at the airport.
Strikes of weather conditions? Who is making things up? Of course SN pays the volunteers.
I meant strikes OR ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2018
Very true!
And the situation at BRU was clear to get worse as of 3 pm when it started snowing and flights got delayed..
They had ample time to call in extras or to work out an alternative workforce post closing hours. I was at BRU between 15:00 and 18:00 the situation was already desperate ...

Some more news on this: the plan signed off by LH is to have 2 A340 planes up and running end of March next year already, with 2 more being added every IATA season, to a total of 6 for summer 2019!
Initial destinations are likely to be: Los Angeles, Miami, New York, ...

Re: BRU - Long haul & intercontinental in the medium-long term
I already started a similar posts some time ago regarding the potential future of BRU and its new LHL destinations so here's my take on it. These are only potential routes, not based on any rumours or anything but more which routes/airlines BRU should have in a couple of years:

2-4-2 is actually the best configuration out there according to many studies/surveys. Especially on A330 and A340.Yuqu12 wrote: 01 Jun 2017, 09:05 Good luck for the passengers in economy. I guess 2-4-2 is somewhat the worst configuration to have.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I may be wrong but I doubt leasing a 10 year old plane (already well depreciated by its owner, the lessor) cost as much as leasing a factory-new one of the same type.
That's correct, but still, leasing is throwing away money, no matter how old the plane is or how cheap the price is. Leasing ...

Trains to Ghent are not perfect as well:
2 direct per hour (with one of them taking 1h22 till Ghent.
And typical NMBS: you have 3 between the the hour 15 and the hour half (2 of them with a change of trains in Brussels) and then you have to wait another half hour for the next train...
