Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
Airlines and any company really will charge top dollar for a mediocre service as long as there are ignorant paying consumers. Ryanair has started doing just the same, they have become an extremely expensive airline. They also pay their staff very little for their time and work. No wonder nobody want...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Suffices to look at the LH A32F aircraft, they all seem to have the huge SATCOM antenna.
I bet that it's much more than 1% additional fuel burn.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
5 days later...OO-SNI still stuck in Vilnius ? Seems to still be sitting AOG in Vilnius; must be something serious. The tyre may have hit something else when it came off. It's rather explosive when that happens and seeing as how it was the inboard, it may have hit the doors or something else. This ...

Universal Hydrogen’s 40-passenger hydrogen electric plane completes maiden flight
Mere weeks after achieving experimental airworthiness certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Universal Hydrogen has successfully taken its 40-passenger regional hydrogen electric plane to the skies. The aircraft took off from Washington state this morning and ascended to an al...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
Hi, Indeed ... But in Belgium they can't decide even to built one needed power line ! Case closed... Not in this life ! Maglev... From Hasselt to Antwerp please 🥺❤️ CXB The cost to build a tunneled line as below would be about 500 Billion euro's. http://www.gcmap.com/map?P=ams-bru-cdg-tls-bcn-mad%0...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
The socio-economic impact for the local workforce would be, at least in the short-term, a disaster. Given its status as capital of the EU and NATO, there is a very large amount of traffic that is coming into BRU, not just from government officials and EU/NATO staff, but lobbyists, foreign represent...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
Intermodal is very important in my opinion. For someone from Antwerp, it's more convenient to fly out of AMS than it is from Charleroi or Eindhoven and if you use Thalys, almost as convenient as BRU. That BRU is not set up for HSR is not the customer's problem. In fact, I don't see why it's not set...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2022
I feel for both sides of this. I feel for the crews who must be exhausted and unhappy with their decreasing purchasing power as well as the still very present Covid. I feel for the airline which is battling lack of staff and high oil prices while some seats are not filling up as they should despite...

Warning: Ryanair meltdown ongoing: do not book
Ryanair's website and app are experiencing a total meltdown since an update two days ago. I advise people not to book until resolved. These are the issues I have noted so far -Intermittent issues logging in on the website, the website now asks a code sent via e-mail but often the codes don't work an...

Re: Ryanair (Holdings) in 2022
The Ryanair website has become a nightmare since an update two days ago. If you try to log in, it asks a code that is emailed to you, but often it doesn't accept the code even if you enter it correctly. Customer service is unreachable, online check-in not accessible for many, Ryanair forced to waive...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Planes get new painting every 6-7 years. And the transition will be done at the time each aircraft needs anyhow a new visit to the paint shop, regardless of the livery. To me, timing is ok : - there is a new positioning as network airline - 2023 there are 3 committed A320 NEOs coming, PR wise good ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
Rebranding costs millions. Repainting the tail in different colors costs more because you need to rebalance the rudder and that alone is a non-negligible cost. Then think about new uniforms, new headrest covers, new safety cards, new catering disposables, new signs all over the place from Bhouse to ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
I don't see the point of doing this ahead of a quiet winter for what looks like a downgrade in design. I will name this one "Brussels Airlines a attrapé la varicelle / Brussels Airlines caught the measles." A new chapter for Brussels Airlines... Chapter 11? Let's get rid of Lufthansa and n...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
It's unthinkable that SN is going to waste money on a rebrand of their corporate identity at the worst ever time of a crisis. Travel is going to be down for the coming months, staff is going to have to work at a time of high virus circulation or be sent home with reduced pay, and SN is going to pain...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
To announce big changes ahead of the winter does not make much sense. What good would it be to splash cash on a new livery in the middle of a cash crisis? A new chapter implies new ownership IMO. What makes most sense to me is that the government rights will be converted into shares and SN will beco...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2021
I don't know why some of you are shocked by my suggestion that LH may sell SN. The industry is in dire straits and whenever this happens, consolidation (M&A) happens. If anything, I can see LH selling SN because SN could be a desirable purchase target. If anything, such a sale would be SN saving...
