Re: EgyptAir A300 Cargo ignores ATC instructions and causes near collision with Air France A320 above Ghent/Gent/Gand

Well well well... Flight crew repeatedly not respecting ATC instruction, and ignoring TCAS alerts. I am impatient to read their version of the story.

Re: Planning of petition "retro livery"

Another tricky aspect is the fact that sabena is actually the name of two existing companies, not related (and sometimes in competition) to Brussels Airlines : Sabena Technics, and Sabena Aerospace. Branding an aircraft with someone else's name is delicate, isn't it ?

Hi. This is no B747, but an A340. It's sitting there for about two weeks now. Probably diverted to LGG due to pilot strike.

This cannot be exact. A non european could not own more than 49,9% of a european airline. The deal certainly involves other european partner(s).

Well, "Air Services Liege" (ASL) is based in ANR for years, and seems profitable.

Re: ATC: mode C, mode S,ADS-B out,new F-pln 2012 regulation

Something that worth metionning here, it the coming postponement of the ADSB-OUT mandate by EASA. This is yet to be published in the regulations, but seems a firm decision. I guess (and hope) that they still know way more than what they say. If piracy is involved, the communication strategy is different than for an accident.

Re: Belgian Defence to replace its A330 by an A321

Maybe the right moment to rephrase my earlier statement : I am sure that some airlines have propose B757 to the tender from the government, but were not selected. This is the minister decision and we can only trust that the choice was based on solid arguments in the fair intrest of the nation.

Re: Belgian Defence to replace its A330 by an A321

The aircraft livery is certainly part of the contractual deal between the provider and the government. If the deal covers an exclusive usage of the aircraft, it is legitimate to see a clear "Belgian Air Force" branding. However, it the tender and contract is limited to a certain number of ...

The article states :
"all three twinjets are currently on long-term lease to an undisclosed European express carrier, (...) and have been acquired with the leases attached."
So if it's true, this would be only a financial deal between lessors, without impact on the current operator.

Re: Thai Airways A330 crash lands at Suvarnabhumi Bangkok

The speculations on a possible non-respect of inspections interval due to the date in 2013 are irrelevant. Indeed only the maintenance records are valid source of info. Without being familiar to the Thai maintenance program, we can suspect that their C-check calendar interval is 20 months as per MPD...

Re: TNT Boeing 757 combi for NATO

To confirm Tomskii's thoughts, indeed TNT Airways stopped all PAX flight, and all QC aircraft (737 and BAe146) have left the fleet.
And to answer Andorra-airport's question. Yes, a combi aircraft has a defined main deck freight section (here at the front), and another PAX section (here at the back).
