my new camera - advice please
good morning group, I have not been too active of late due to various reasons but I have just invested in a rather smart new camera. It is the Canon eos 600d, as of yet due to cloud and lack of contrail when the sun has been out I have been unable to use the canon on the Skywatcher. On my previous c...

Re: Minimum requirements for a telescope (contrail spotting)
if you do opt for the 6" make sure it has a 2" focuser as standard, i have a 6" skywatcher dob and once id ordered the 2" barlow i found to my dismay that my focuser was indeed 2 and a quarter inch so i had to fabricate 2 tubes to make it fit. if you dont want to use a barlow tho...

Re: Contrail spotting January 2012
i think these can go into this section as they are all pretty much in focus albeit a bit small.
i know they are pointing at different obscure angles but i was concentrating on getting the focus right instead of angling the camera.

Re: Contrail spotting January 2012
james, you was lucky, i had a break in the cloud for about an hour or so and took a few shots (see my new post) i was rather hoping for a few breaks this afternoon but it just steadily got worse.
tomorrow is looking even worse.
btw what is your set up? as your pics are stunning.
cheers simon

my second attempt at photograpy
as per title, these were taken with iso 200 and shutter speed 1/320 but despite them appearing sharp in the viewfinder they still came out blurred, the scope had been outside for over an hour to acclimatise but im still not happy with the shots. i used canons zoombrowser ex to reduce the brightness ...
