Eurowings Europe was entered in the Maltese company register, set up to succeed the Austrian unit. It is owned by Irish Lhamih (Ireland), a holding company of Lufthansa. The new airline Eurowings Europe is scheduled to start in autumn 2022.

Juan Jose Hidalgo has launched an urgent reorganisation of his assets to get both Globalia and subsidiary Air Europa out of technical bankruptcy. He intends to obtain between €400-500 million to recapitalise the family holding company.
