Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Does it indicate that Brussels' long-haul activities are comparatively underdeveloped? There are indeed some room to grow on long haul sector. This is why the long haul fleet will grow at a rate of 1 A330 per year, thanks to the A330 leaving Lufthansa fleet. Why are they not in a hotel? Might not h...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I do not confuse anything, I'm just relating some "bruit de couloir" wich often comes with business case.
In the case of austrian with a fleet of 17 embraer, not sure we can say they stopped serving all marginal needs.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
But they also said that the MAXs would not be for Lufthansa, Swiss and City. Thus, they might go to Brussels Airlines, Austrian Airlines and Eurowings (and maybe ITA...). Given the past and current safety issues of the MAX, I'm not sure I would like these planes going to SN... :? And it won't be th...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
There is only 1 NEO active at the moment, this is sent where it is the most economicaly logical. If the discount on airport taxes in LHR is bigger than the difference of cost of fuel on a TFS flight using a neo instead of a ceo, the only and sole NEO of the fleet is sent to LHR this is very simple. ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Why has OO-SBA been deployed on short routes till now (CDG, LHR, MUC, FRA,..., mostly routes less than 1 hour..; except BCN)? Is this for crew familiarisation? As the engines on the 320neo are more economic than those on the 320ceo, I would have expected to see the neo on longer routes of 2 hours a...

Re: TUI Aviation in 2023
This is a topic about TUI. How many TUI travel agencies have closed this year... (or since covid)? Would you please tell us? Indeed this is a topic about TUI and the world of TUI does not gravite only around their own brand, other travel agencies sell as well TUI... The tourism market (wich TUI is ...

Re: TUI Aviation in 2023
At the top of the CRL base before covid there were 4 aircraft based. Sunweb and Corendon are not only operating in Holland but in belgium as well. And they are taking a bigger part of the cake year after year. Travel agencies in Belgium and in every other country are closing the one after the other ...

Re: TUI Aviation in 2023
Actually no, the market is not weaker than before, but the offer and the demand changed. For the offer, the time since TUI had a casi-monopol is gone. New player are growing in the market. Sunweb, Corendon etc. For the demand, the time when people was going to a travel agency to book their travel is...

Re: TUI Aviation in 2023
No this is TUI fly Belgium which is weakening. 1 Boeing 787 less, 767 gone, closure of CRL base (4 aircraft), closure of all Algerian flight, just keeping Alger and Oran, 5th 737max gone to TUI fly in Germany. Just 3 embraer instead of 4, etc etc

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
Are the differences between the different rows 'on purpose'? I guess the reasoning is that the first rows are business anyway, but not always and certainly not 9 rows. Then the fact that for the remaining seats there is again a difference is bit weird, no? The rows behing the business is the so cal...

Nairobi will be "sec" some days of the week and via Kigali the other days. At the moment for Africa there are direct fly both direction on some day of the week for Nairobi, Kinshasa and Dakar during winter. The plan for the moment is to grow at a one a330 per year rate. Number 11th is plan...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2023
O/D to overseas territories on which AF/KL now have a (near)monopoly? For long haul the plan is cristal clear, the focus is on Africa with connecting pax from Europe with SN metal and North America with SN metal for JFK and the rest with United and Air Canada. Africa is the main focus indeed with a...
