Re: Emirates quitting Conakry

I don't think that EK was serving any of the markets you mention. It's just not viable, even if EK achieves lower seat-mile cost, it takes twice as many seat-miles to get there through DXB. It's also not attractive from a pax perspective. Agree like Kenya Airways or Ethiopian serving West Africa. T...

Re: Air France quits Monrovia

I reckon FNA will be axed as well. AF will add a 3rd weekly service to FNA. Also note that ROB is connected with the US by Delta (in combination with Accra) so that already reduces the number of transfer pax for AF through CDG. Kenya Airways provides 3 flights a week from Nairobi and the airline pr...

No B787 until 2017, for RwandAir. Brand new B787 ?? http://www.businessweek.com/news/2014-02-24/boeing-said-to-struggle-with-sales-of-1-dot-1-billion-of-early-787s I know they were also in talk with Airbus 4 years ago, they were interested by the A320 / A330 and even ATR. Re: News from THY in 2014

Currently TK serves Kigali / Entebbe daily with a mix of B737-800 / 900ER. At the begining TK served Dar Es Salaam, Nairobi and Entebbe with B737-800s and sometimes A330s. But flights were not daily (3 times a week).

According to Amadeus Qatar will add 3 more weekly to Kigali, from 01 April 2014. There will be 10 flights a week. Timetables on Amadeus can't be read after 25 October 2014, so i don'tk know if it will be a increase during high season.

Re: New destinations from THY

Nice to see TK drop some routes for a change, they have stopped serving cargo only stations Hanoi and Luton. Same thing for Kigali, another short lived cargo route after Emirates SkyCargo. Always the same problems, high volume to Rwanda but low volume from Rwanda, and very expensive taxes at the ai...

Re: New destinations from THY

Thx Hakan I don't know about Buenos Aires, but GRU for sure is very slot restricted and many airlines have difficulties to get the slots they want (both timings and frequency). But is it only slot related or also bilateral related (something which is I can think of that could be the case with Argent...

Re: RwandAir hopes to buy Boeing 787 Dreamliners

In April 2013 rumors said that China Communications construction company won the tender. But it was false. Aeroport de Lyon was also interested, but according to me they think that current project is too big for Rwanda. They are a little bit right, some projects such as new airports at Dakar or Luan...

Anyone know why they isn't cargo service between Rwanda and Belgium ?? I know that Ehiopian did a Liege Bujumbura Kigali Addis Ababa in 2011, but flights ceased quickly. Like SN pulling back from its Ethiopian codeshare because it was losing more than it won.
Yes and that's porbably the reason why SN /TK and TK / LH don't have a code share agreement in Africa.

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG

and AC are not even code sharing on the CDG-BRU leg. Only UA does.
AC provides only code sharing between CDG and Washington, Chicago, and Newark. You have to add the daily service to Toronto and Montreal by AC. It's probably enough, but i m not an expert
