Re: startup on stand + flaps down for A330

Hi, 1. Was it hot where you were flying? The 330 tends to give a wing overheat warning in hot environments thats why they lower the flaps to let the air circulate and thus cooling the trailing edge . 2. Probably what you saw was a air starter so thats why one engine was started at the gate already. ...

Re: Strike of Flightcare baggage handlers at Brussels Airpor

Breaking somebody else's strike is bad form - it simply is not done. If you have ever worked on the floor, been a member of a union, you know that. As far as I see SN's employees made shure there companie just didn't went into a bad start of the year. Don't forget the numbers for SN wheren't that g...

Re: Strike of Flightcare baggage handlers at Brussels Airpor

As a rule, I surely am no supporter of strikers - but, on the other hand, for the Brussels Airlines ground staff to break their colleagues' strike is nothing to be proud of (and another time, it could be the other way round). Common serious collegues?? 2 total different companies, should brussels a...

Re: BrusselsAirlines - the TURBOPROPS will come!

I think that the SN management is doing a good job. You need indeed 4 or 5 TP on the thin routes. but if you use these on the big routes your done playing you will go back to the old DAT then. Wich is not affordable for brussels airlines for what it is today and not 10 years ago. Never forget AFRICA...

Re: Korongo Airlines

@ congolaise I think SNBA is waiting to see whats the outcome of the elections in november. As katanga is a fairly peacefull region (I heard) there are no problems at this moment except for the shooting at the airport a few months ago. But as you know after elections that can change fairly quick. An...

Re: Korongo Airlines

I'll even say more african mechanics are trained at this moment at brussels and yes there will be mechanics from belgium there but for one main reason these mechanics know the aircraft inside out bottom to top so they are there to just for there know how. And I know that also african crew is already...

Re: Korongo Airlines

Yes there is personnel of brussels airlines already in DRC. An for the blacklisting I don't know it would be very strange to me because these aircraft are still brussels airlines property operated and maintained by brussels airlines personnel. Also the registration of the aircrafts will stay belgian...

Re: FAA compromises on safety standard to benefit 787

Just to clarify these are standards only for the USA as you will find only the Inerting system on aicrafts flying into the united states. Easa also have such a program but its far more relax then the rules FAA lays down. So no panic I would say.

Re: Brussels Airlines vs Air Sénégal

I think that korongo will go on one way or another and this for following reasons. 1. Air Dc was in coop with hewa bora where now korongo will be an independent airline operating from lumbumbashi instead of kinshasa. 2. As you all may now lumbumbashi is the place where the mines ar in Congo Maybe yo...
