Re: Crash of Hewa Bora plane with 112 pax/crew at Kisangani
Non precision approach using Garmin 196 as navigation and let down equipment. Tagged spare parts are an illusion and most of the time spares are taken from old wrecks. Any final report yet on the 2008 DC9 crash? I heard that the engines are still not handed over to the NTSB. Shocking.

Re: Korongo Airlines
FMB, by air 880 nm away from FIH, cannot be compared with the latter. Very nice and calm environment, almost everything available. A very nice place to live and work for the pilot with a pioneer attitude. The one who likes his job and is proud of what he's doing. No good for uniform show offs with ...

Re: French president takes maiden flight on "Air Sarko"

Re: Crocodile blamed for fatal Congo air crash...
Bandundu "ville" is not in the middle of the bush, but the capital city of Bandundu province. The aircraft ran out of fuel after he did not get the expected fuel at destination, could have made it back to Bandundu but had to make an overshoot on his first approach (bad visibility) and ran out of ...

Re: Crocodile blamed for fatal Congo air crash...
The story is unreal. These flights are usually full. The Let 410 has no overhead racks or binns, there is simply no space for a reptile and knowing the captain/owner of the aircraft it would have been impossible to bring it on board without him noticing. Don't make up stories, the aviation world in ...

Re: Ostend Airport - Latest news
Jan, I do agree with your statement but then again if Ostend Airport is part of an agreement signed long ago by the Belgian Government as it being part of a NATO deal package, which means it will never be closed, why not making an effort to make something nice out of it.

Re: Ostend Airport - Latest news
Ostend needs a professional marketing manager with a "budget" to discuss deals and attract business. A government employee has his hand tied to rules, regulations, budgetrestrictions and gives no hand outs. That's how Brussels South did it. Look where they are at compared to Ostend.Put the right ...
