Re: Spa airport about to close
Honestly, all of us who fly around Belgium know that EBSP is one of the nicest airports with its hard runway, beautiful surroundings and good & friendly staff. This closure is an attack against GA in the country. Is there anything GA pilots (and skydivers) could do against this decision besides ...

Re: BRU 10/09/2012 Ethiopian B787
Thank you, BDE77W - beautiful pic !
I arrived too late due to traffic and only saw it on the apron from the terminal's restaurant next to AC 767.

Belgium Aeronautical Charts
Hi all,
Who publishes the low-level 1:250.000 aeronautical charts in Belgium used in General Aviation and where can you buy the latest versions other than at an FTO ?
Thanks in advance,
OO-PAL

C150 field landing April 30
Hi all,
Apparently, OO-HBW landed safely in a field in Burdinne (Liège) on Monday. A student pilot we met in EBCI told us that he had circled the site for a while before help was on the way.
Does anyone know more about this ?

Re: Regulation Question
Thanks for the many answers on the forum and in private. I was re-assured to notice that I was not the only one for whom this was nebulous (!). For the record, I went to DGTA today and renewed my PPL(A) 5-yr licence by simply paying a EUR 148,- fee despite it being expired since 10/8/11. This is a s...

Re: Regulation Question
Thank for your reply, ATCO ACC. I had looked into this section of the DGTA website but there is no specific reference to the renewal of a licence. In my mind - and according to the regulations book - the 12 prior months applies to the SEP(A) qualification which in my case is still valid 1 year, and ...

Regulation Question
Hi all ! I am a PPL(A) whose license has just expired but who is fully current both on qualification (PPL-SEP) and medical (class 2). I haven't been able to find the answer to my question in my regulations book and a senior representative of my FTO wasn't able to answer me (!) either: Am I right to ...

Re: Belgocontrol ATIS phone service
Thx all for your posts - still no news about the service, though...
I find this extremely useful in addition to the online METAR/TAF service. I often call it from the car on my way to EBCI to check about conditions development. So I would think it is a loss not to have it anymore.

Belgocontrol ATIS phone service
Hi all,
Just a simple PPL here but since today, I cannot reach the Belgocontrol ATIS 02- number... That was so convenient. Is this just a temporary problem or have they canned it ?

Looking for PPLs to fly together
Are you also a safety-conscious PPL holder who prefers the company of another pilot in the cockpit ? BFS-trained PPL-SEP (2006) with approx 160hTT - qualified on BE77 and PA28 out of EBCI - looking for fellow PPLs interested in flying together, mostly at weekends. The idea isn't to save money, but r...

Question to Moderators - General Aviation Forum
Dear moderators,
Apologies if this is not the right forum to post this question.
Is there a General Aviation forum on Luchtzak (or elsewhere) where current PPLs can exchange ideas on their passion in Belgium ? I haven't found anything.
Good landings,
OO-PAL

Re: PPL courses - Where to go ? BFS or ... ?
I am a BFS-qualified PPL and I would recommend them above anywheren else in Belgium. Being the largest flight school in the country and fully integrated ATPL training centre, what BFS has to offer greatly outweighs some of the drawbacks of its size. The number of available aircraft and instructors i...
