And it looks like the father is also connected on the frequency with a mike allowing him to override his son ... Thats what our ATC instructors do when they have a new trainee under responsability ... and by the way, his son's phraseology is not bad ...

Companies are also taking this events seriously : in their last Safety Publication, TNT Airways has published an article on the dangers of beeing blinded by such laser during critical landing phase. They also provide the crews with usefull tips in case they are targeted ... there were also ...

It often happens they are leaving EBBR in trail to the east : 3 aircrafts on the same departure routeing, separated by about 2 minutes, with very similar ATC callsign ( JAI225-227-229 ) ... And then, you really have to take caution of pilot's readback of ATC instructions ... At least one of them ...

I hope they will give us soon the results of this investigation ... I really would like to know how a home based KLM crew misindentified the runway and the adjacent taxiway at their usual airport !!! As it happened at the end of the day, maybe they were confused by the runways/taxiways lights ...

ATC uses FLO for holding for all the traffic coming from the southeast ,the East and the northeast.
Additionnally, in case of heavy traffic loads, GSY ( overhead Charleroi ) can also be used during non-military hours or with the approuval and airspace delegation of Belga Radar.
