Re: Something going on at SAS ?

Berlingske a Danish newspaper says negotiations can take the whole night now. All aircraft have enough fuel to return to homebase. Normally you should be refunded/given an alternative route for your flight tomorrow.

Re: Something going on at SAS ?

We will know by midnight tonight what the outcome is. Someone in relation to SAS say its 50/50 percent chance of failure/survival. It seemed to be moving to a positive direction but you never know. Lets wait and see for the final outcome and all the best of luck for SAS.

Re: Something going on at SAS ?

It seems that the Unions have accepted some demands but not all. They have given counter proposals to save money and this needs to be looked at. Lets see but either this will end quickly or it will be an all nighter to find a sustainable solution.

Re: Something going on at SAS ?

The only problem with FlyBe taking over is that the Norwegian government wants to keep Wideroe in "Norwegian hands" so to speak. So either Norwegian the airline could take over (which I highly doubt it will or Norwegian investors will buy Wideroe or Norwegian firms will buy Wideroe.

Re: New Greek Airlines

Hellenic Imperial last sent 2 Jumbos to Pakistan for the Hajj. This summer they were still there. So they are somehow making money through charters and lease agreements but all scheduled operations have stopped. They didn't have the money for the paintwork of the A340's they were supposed to get.

New Greek Airlines

In the year second half of 2011 and all year of 2012 not less than 5 new airlines have started up in Greece. Most of them are charter companies. Aeolian Airlines has 1 MD-83 aircraft operated/leased by Sky Wings. http://www.aeolianairlines.com/ Astra Airlines although not new has received 2 Airbus A...

Re: Alitalia eyes merger with Air France

I also have a feeling that Olympic Air will join Skyteam. I say this because when they started they mentioned they would head for Skyteam. They have codeshare agreements with Delta and KLM. Also Air France is now starting (or has started) flights to Athens from Marseille, Nice & Toulouse, destin...

Re: BRU summer 2012: latest news, routes, airlines

I really wish AA would do something interesting like Miami-Brussels or Dallas-Brussels (which I think they did at some stage I could be wrong though) SN might even have enough guts to codeshare with AA on this flight. But lets see, AA is also in a financial mess...

Re: Best economy class to US

Thank you all for the replies :)

My parents will travel return on Jet Airways. I will fly with them on Jet Airways but I still need to book a return. Maybe I'll try United Economy Plus on the way back :)

Re: Thai to serve BRU as from next fall!

Great news! :D I saw on the facebook website of Brussels Airport: http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/Brussels-Airport-BRU/153449101365396 That someone commented that AA wants to start Miami-Bru with a 767. I am highly sceptical of this, but you never know. However, the same person mentioned th...

Re: Hellenic Imperial to launch Athens – Johannesburg

Hellenic Imperial have just added London Gatwick and Kuwait City as destinations.

Until their A321's arrive they will be using the A340 on all their flights.
This means another wide-body on a intra-Europe route for the time being. ;)

Routes Asia 2011

Here is an interview link with Thai, and they mention a possibility of "opening" new routes - I know it doesn't sound like much - but the interview featured primarily Europe (so perhaps BRU) was on their mind? I'm saying this as BRU airport "advertised" or mentioned they were in ...

Re: Hellenic Imperial to launch Athens – Johannesburg

Hellenic Imperial Airways has added 2 A321-200 aircraft to its fleet and is looking to add Airbus A340-300 aircraft to expand its operations (including scheduled flights)...they are going to start some interesting routes out of Athens ([un]fortunatley not BRU) lets see how long those routes will las...
