Re: BRU - LHR widebody trip (February 20-21)

Thank you all for the information! Really appreciated. I might also try out some spotting places around LHR and probably head to the city with the tube. I will phone AA in advance and ask for the check-in possibilities (if they know the answer) and see what i can do then. greetings! airtrotter ps: a...

Re: BRU - LHR widebody trip (February 20-21)

@ Stij: yes, the Giraffe! I tried that one in T5, but didn't know it's also at T1. Anyway, I just figured out that I won't be able to stay in T1 after my arrival as connections will guide me directly to T3 or I'll have to go landside. @ website-info Dont want to piss on your parade so to speak, but ...

Re: BRU - LHR widebody trip (February 20-21)

How much did you pay for this trip, and which widebodies are you flying? I assume you can check in online before you leave BRU for the flight back? € 65 BRU-LHR on UA B772 and € 78 LHR-BRU on AA B763, think that's an ok price. (€ 65 was also the ticket price on AA, but only through americanairlines...

Re: BRU - LHR widebody trip (February 20-21)

@ teach: thanks for the tip!
But as an aviation enthusiast with a tight budget you've got to make choices, fly big and sleep small or fly small and sleep big :) , so the Renaissance, although a nice hotel with a stunning view, is out of my league for this trip. But thanks anyway!

BRU - LHR widebody trip (February 20-21)

Hi people! I booked this trip to Heathrow on UA 929 and back the next day on AA 108...just to fly those widebodies. Crazy? maybe ;) Anyway, i will arrive at LHR Terminal 1 very early (Saturday) and depart again Sunday morning at Terminal 3. I was thinking about booking an airport hotel, but i will p...

Re: BRU 09/02/2010

saw 2 UA birds standing at BRU today (around 1800LT). I couldn't make out the regs, but i suspect it to be both 777. One in old color scheme, one with new livery.
Anyone an idea why? I know there are cancellations in the US, but...because of the snow over there?

Re: SN flights to Paris CDG

I assume that on the CDG flight(s) b.air wants to give priority to pax connecting to long haul flights. Does anyone have any idea of the load factor on the Paris flight ? And we still don't know how b.air can have two flights out of BRU to CDG, but only one flight back (as from the summer season). ...

holding patterns in belgian airspace

Hi all! Yesterday I was looking at radar screens and noticed flights coming from the east were making turns (in what seemed to me a holding) above VOR FLORA (?), somewhere above Sint-Truiden. Is this a known holding for approach to BRU? And are there any others? I seem to remember there's also one a...

ok, I thought airlines always had to pay for slots, no matter how slot-restricted or not...
thanks for the clarification :)

Re: How much did SN pay for the 4 slots to LHR?

what about the slots at LGW? They can sell those now, can't they?
and the ones at NCL and BRS? who has to pay for these (extra) slots, BD or SN?

anyone an idea?

Re: future of BMI, SN to Heathrow

As I've explained above, unless there's another swap not known yet, SN is actually down a couple of flights, and even more so if we look at the total flight hours I think it will stay equal LHR: + 4 LGW: no change (my believe) BRS: - 2 NCL: -1 so maybe indeed LGW will be down one, or there will be ...

Re: future of BMI, SN to Heathrow

I'm still curious as to the LGW flights. When BD and SN are just swapping flights (LHR for BRS + NCL), it's possible that SN keeps its LGW flights.
Anyway, just some more speculation :)

Re: future of BMI, SN to Heathrow

a quick search for February showed flights BRU-LGW by BD but operated by SN.
while for next week, it shows just SN ???

does SN has the planes and people to take over LHR as well as continuing LGW? or will the BRU-LGW flights also be wetlease arrangements?
