Indeed, don't fly, just take the train (cheaper & probably faster);

IranAir B727 crashes in Iran

Just in, a Fokker 100 crashed in Iran with 156 aboard - 50 would have survived.

The BAW777 has, from what I heard, a smoke alarm. There is already a topic on it on the forum, if I'm not mistaken.
Right, missed it, thanks

Re: Plane escorted into BRU by 4 fighters

There's a British Airways 777 standing on the tarmac here, heard rumors about smoke in the cockpit and others about a bomb alarm - anyone has more info?

Re: Flights cancelled due to volcanic ash cloud from Iceland

The way Brussels Airlines is dealing with this problem shows once again their inability to handle customers properly. I received a SMS telling me that the flight was cancelled - no answer from their call center, no help at all. Had to rent a car to get BRU...once I got here, the desk of Brussels Ai...

Re: Failed bomb attack on Northwest Airlines, Amsterdam-Detroit

I'm not an explosives specialist, but I know that PETN is used as charge for ammo. I don't know how it compares to gunpowder, but if it is that explosive, then why did the A330 make it? Now, my point is that just because the FBI claims it to be PETN, that doesn't make it PETN. Most probably the fir...

Sad to see so many 744's have been sacked for the last couple of years :(

And just wondering: why do alot of airlines take off/buffer the logo's from these dead birds?

Re: Failed bomb attack on Northwest Airlines, Amsterdam-Detroit

This case very much reminds me of an interview with security crew at a certain airport (I believe it was LHR): because of politics bullshit they weren't allowed to check on just black / middle-eastern looking types, but they had to make sure they checked white people just as much. Very efficient.

Re: BRU airport website restricted viewing due to heavy traffic!

It's more a problem of server resource, but it prooves they are amateurs indeed Would you say that Amsterdam Airport are amateurs as well then? Their site also offered reduced functionality over the last few days due to heavy visitor numbers. Airport • Passengers handled • Year Brussels Airport • 1...

Perhaps a little unfair, but: approaching Tokyo Narita on a sunny Sunday morning in 2008, sitting in the 772 cockpit :) And afterwards during taxiing we passed by Singapore's first A380 which was docked there for some reason.. Good stuff! Few weeks back I landed in Chek Lap Kok & expected it to ...

I just got very curious what this is about, and am now looking up stuff at other forums. :D

And I agree about the free speech thing, though I can imagine that sometimes a rat starts posting bullcrap that's potentially dangerous for any future plans or agreements.
