Re: Brussels region noise regulation

Ah yeah i missed that trick, 2 differents entities.

Yeah, the same trick used to stall BHV for ever. Even the Ménapiens can get angry once in a while.
And this has been part of the hidden agenda:
De cargoluchthaven van Luik hoopt munt te slaan uit de verstrengde geluidsnormen voor Brussels ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

Imho, both parties to the dispute have valid arguments, although one party has more legal arguments on its side. "Celine Fremaut wants to be re-elected" (says Korvo), Ben Weyts, too. And since the federal minister apparently has no competence, we are in a stalemate.
I'll refrain from any other ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

"Needs to be forced": wrong. There is no need to force whatever. There is a much easier solution: the Brussels Government accepts the inviation from Flanders and the airport to talk about noise restrictions and a dispertion plan. And meanwhile, the Brussels Government orders their incasso firm not ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

What a pathetic answer.
BRU is the NATIONAL airport of belgium, remember ?
And if a limit needs to be forced, any other national airport should be prefered. (Even though I dont beleive airlines will like that solution)

Of course it would be easier if BRU was part of brussels territory or if the ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

The fact that they come from different regions is almost secondary here...
(Groen is on brussels side for example)

This is a typical communautarian discussion and a classic example of "Flanders-bashing". If the airport were located on Brussels territory, all aircraft would be flying over ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

That's indeed correct: noise restrictions are regional. However, most (but not all) courts accept the principe " lex specialis derogat legi generali ": a specialized law prevails to a general law. A new federal aviation law would then prevail to the existing general Brussels environmental law ...

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

This begins to smell like total sabotage by the PS/Défi, who see BRU as a "Flemish" airport in which they have no interest:
" Het is zover gekomen dat Brussel zelfs niet meer wil overleggen. Ze zeggen gewoon dat het gaan doen "

If there's no hope for a political solution, we should just "invent" some nuisance taxations for Brussels ourselves. Maybe a compensation-tax for every passenger originating from Brussels.

Re: Brussels region noise regulation

Didier Gosuin is a member of défi (the ex-FDF), and the airport is on the territory of Flanders. This is simple economical sabotage and harassment, fueled by his anti-Flemish sentiments. It's a pity that people like Gosuin can't be put on a passenger black list ...
