Re: My experience on Brussels Airlines' from Washington IAD
Interesting articles Inquirer! Mind you, I was on the second return flight, so not the first. But close to 100% LF on the IAD->BRU flight seems to be the norm for the next couple of days. Additionally, 85 of the passengers being of African origin or identity as the article says, does not mean they a...

Re: My experience on Brussels Airlines' from Washington IAD
Hi Rix, It was at IAD, so not the procedure you described when departing in BRU. This BRU procedure of extra checking at the gate is by the way not unique to SN, with UA or US I also had the additional check at the gate itself past few times I flew them. Although this time at BRU, I could skip the e...

Re: Brussels Airlines' second US destination
My experience on SN516 IAD->BRU 20/06 A330-300 LF almost 100% in Y, could not judge C. Food is superior to US based airliner. Superb IFE. Maybe the announcements could also be transmitted through the headphones in addition to the overall loudspeakers? Boarding process was rather chaotic, somehow eve...

Re: BRU-CDG at risk?
If I'm not mistaken, there is not a single Thalys running between ZYR and CDG.
There is however a TGV running between ZYR and CDG.
Is it SN's intention to run the Thalys between Paris Gare du Nord and BRU or between CDG and BRU?

Re: Delays and airline policies
* Case online check-in: But when do you know? Wrong information is worse then no information. Is some legal certainty connected to the information displayed on the departure website? Can you based on that information be sure the boarding time is not going to be any earlier as say 40 min before the E...

Re: Delays and airline policies
So giving delay information on the departure website doesn't help a thing. The information is either not 100% sure or even if it is sure, there is no time to be gained from knowing the information, you still need to be there (if you have to check-in lugage). Left apart you don't know whether the inf...

Delays and airline policies
Suppose heavy snow fall is disrupting air traffic. On the (brussels)airport website your departing flight (STD 19:00) is announced delayed (ETD 22:00), can you based on this info risk to come later to the airport. So simple question: Has some of you experience with trusting departure time info on (b...

Re: Smoke in cabine, is that normal?
It is exactly what you thought it was: condensation. Very well known for its ability to frighten passengers. Hot air can contain more water, when cooled down the water needs to be sqeezed out, hence 'water' clouds close to the ventilation outlets. Same thing happens when opening a freezer in high hu...

Re: Abnormalities at BRU / ANR / LGG / CRL / OST
But the LHR flight is scheduled to arrive at 15:35.
Now ua.be shows UA951 as being delayed till 14:00 due to weather. Someone at BRU having more details about this one?

Re: future of BMI, SN to Heathrow
Probably a lot of people have a part of their booking on a BD flight after 10/01, including myself. As mentioned by the press-release, contact travel agent after 2 december will be of more help than contacting the travel agent now. Probably SN's strategy on LHR will be clear by then and my guess is ...

Re: Turkish Airlines B737 crashes in Schiphol Amsterdam
It seems interesting that untill now it seems no media is talking about the 100 seconds between autothrottle action and pilot action that is mentioned in the boeing report. In the item on VRT-news ysterday as well as the article referred to above, it seems as if the pilots reacted immediately. From ...

Re: Best way to get to/from CDG if you're not flying AF or SN?
It is possible your travel date is too much in the future to book a seat on your desired train. TGV tickets are bookable 3 months ahead. It is advised to book as early as possible to get the best fares (25 eur / one way). I flew Aeroflot to Hanoi (via Moscow) out of CDG in August and bought my TGV t...

Re: my summer adventure part VI
It was fun and interesting reading your experiences! Some pictures were not really worth posting since the focus was not good or they appear 'shaky'. But besides this I am happy to read such fine reports!
You've certainly had a wonderful 18th anniversary!

Re: To Hanoi with Aeroflot
At Regi:
Thanks for the price-tip.
Surviving Aeroflot is really not that difficult. I actually was quiet happy with everything.
At MSS658:
You better hurry for that IL-96, on the SVO-HAN leg, they are beginning to use B767 if I understood it correctly.

Re: To Hanoi with Aeroflot
For the euro legs it was two times on an A320, I don't know the reg nr. I am not a really experienced flyer, but the legroom and service all seemed decent. On the Il 96 it was a bit different, when the person in front of you reclined his seat, not a lot of space was left to breathe, unless you also ...

To Hanoi with Aeroflot
My first post on this interesting forum. For an internship I had to go to Hanoi this summer. As a student I wanted to find the cheapest flights possible. After browsing a lot of internet booking sites, trying different departure points (BRU, AMS, FRA, CDG) and comparing the costs of getting to those...
