I understand that for a couple of hours, but 8 I think is far too much. It means a wasted day.
My reasoning was, replacement planes should be in operation to face up to such problems. Seems to me that there is a gap in the EU regulation, between the rules on overbooking and those on flight ...

Well, I flew the same BRU-OPO route on the eve, 31st August, and the same happened - call on Thursday to announce the flight would be leaving 3 hours later.
Only for it to be delayed again on Friday, it took off at 20:09 !! (originally scheduled for 12.10)
I asked their staff what was happening ...

As I mentioned in another post I shuttle frequently between Brussels and my hometown Oporto.
Being generally able to book flights in advance I usually take advantage of promotions to book my flights for each season... I did it with SN's last August sales for the Autumn and then again with Brussels ...

I truely wonder where they think they will find enough pax for such a flight? SN currently operates on the route daily, mostly with RJ85, and the load on that flight is about 75% on average, or about 60 pax, so adding 130 or so seats on the route may be overkill, or are there really that many TAP ...
