Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Finally. About time the EW-liveries leave the fleet. (it's almost 3 years after the introduction of the new livery and only 2 long haul planes have been repainted...) Indeed... SN needs a (modern) long haul fleet of at least 15 planes a.s.a.p. to sustain a decent and reliable(!) long haul network. ...

Re: BRU Winter 2024-2025: News, new routes, airlines
BRU has indeed double bridges. As a matter of fact, all bridges at the B pier are/will be renewed by the end of 2025. Double bridges for intercontinental flights and single bridges for short and medium haul flights It will be 2027 before the renovation is completed. Sorry, exactly. 2 years later bc...

Re: BRU Winter 2024-2025: News, new routes, airlines
Do we know how the ME-airlines are doing at BRU? Last November I noticed BRU-DXB (and the other way around) was almost 90-100% full. Maybe one day we can have daily A380 too? That would be nice but we don't have the triple bridge working. That's one of the main conditions. A third daily flight, mor...

Re: 2024 Liège Airport (LGG/EBLG) latest news
When I read the article correct, the Walloon Minister of Environment has issued a permit for 55.000 movements, whilst at the same time explaining and defending that, environment-wise, 50.000 is the limit. When I read the article correct, the Auditor's Office at the The Raad van State / Conseil D'Et...

Dialogue starts when different opinions are driven by arguments - regardless if technical, economical, compiling different sources etc. And it ends when a personalized blame game starts, driven by personal anthipaty, frustration etc. There is nothing wrong in having a personal dream or vision, but ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Exactly. You need competitive cost intra Europe. And you can it only via large aircraft. Wizz and Easy develop a 320/321 Mix, Ryanair is moving towards the 198 seater and here people are dreaming about 80 seaters subfleets. Turboprops could be a solution for Birmingham,Nantes, Bordeaux etc... If so...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
BRU shouldn't go after the likes of AMS, CDG, FRA,... I flew twice from AMS and it was horendous. Overcrowded, long walks, passing security took forever... BRU should focus on an top notch customer experience and thus also be selective at what airlines fly from the airport at busy hours. It’s true ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
On the other hand the big Hubs have euch 2 flights daily operated by LH and United so total time may be less than a connection to BRU which has to earn it's money from P2P Pax. Last but not least the yield is important as well. As usual, answers are not simple. Sn needs to earn more per Pax on it's...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
BRU can be expanded as Hub for African niche routes - this happens with integration of the offers into the joint ventures. But BRU won't become a European Hub- simply because MUC is more central, built by purpose for that and LH owns 50% of the terminal it operates thus earning a share of profits o...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
You can compare apples to apples - CDG and AMS to FRA+MUC+ZRH. The markets BRU serves are not core for LH. So BRU would get some additional connectivity to fill capacity, not more, not less. You're overestimating your brand and it's role, hence the frustration vs your dreams. See the facts - althou...

It happens sometimes in BRU,sure if it's not possible you have to use another runway it's it just an idée already used at other airports.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
I wonder why SN is not getting Embraer 170 or A220-100 present within the Group to serve thinner routes and to increase feeder service ? Again, you have to see the big picture as the brand is not independent. The strategy within the group is to simply operations and thus increase their efficiency -...

Also BRU gave a first reaction after analyzing the new permit. The airport is afraid, with those severe restrictions, which were also named by Voka, that the airport cannot grow after 2032. Those restrictions are not in line with the European guidelines. BRU can go in appeal just like AMS is/was do...
