Re: Brussels Airport (BRU): Border control
Yes, more checkin counters, with no one to man them. Top solution.
And yes, it is a problem, but the main problem is: man-power. No one wants to do this job.
If I understand correctly, the only solution is to reduce non-Schengen flights?!
Or simply a better pay for the border ...

This after the US ambassador visited BRU today together with high representatives of the airlines, CEO of BRU and the Federal police.
I suggest BRU with Mr. Feist makes ...

I read in the press that Dubai has returned to its normal traffic levels. Why are there still not two flights to Brussels?

"Air Congo plans to launch its first long-haul route between Kinshasa and Brussels starting July 1. According to our information, there will be five weekly flights (not on Tuesdays and Thursdays), and these will be operated with a Boeing 787-8 from ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Well. It’s quite simple. A turn radius is a function of bank angle and the speed^2. It’s got nothing to do with it being a 787 or an A350. They both would use around the same angle of bank for a departing turn (FDs typically initially limit 25 degrees of bank).
Airlines will have different ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
It's very simple: when a long-haul flight takes off to the left, only the 787 flies over our part of the city. And I've never seen it turn more sharply, again never!
You can see it live with THAI at 13h30 and compare it to the Singapore of 11h45.
Maybe you could show us some examples with ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Sorry but personal bad luck in choosing own real estate is not a criteria for an airline to judge the best fit model to fly.
There were some rumours that LH would order soon some additional planes, likely widebodies, and depending on which manufacturer and model would get new orders we may see a ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Bullshit!!!
But before you are saying Bullshit do your research, instead of talking nonsense!
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner appears to take off slower and climb more gradually than Airbus counterparts primarily to maximize fuel efficiency, reduce engine wear (via derated thrust), and minimize ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Exactly, if you look closely after takeoff, Boeing 787s have a much wider turning radius than all the others and pass over a large part of the city.
Is there an intrinsic technical cause for that?
No, it's pure BS.
Bullshit!!!

There’s no question that the fleet is growing, but it just seems as though, in the longhaul, there’s no real strategy and/or it’s being held back...
The strategy is quiet clear… Connect North America and Africa via via Brussels with the help of the joint venture. Air Canada/United/Brussels ...

I agree, same for passenger comfort, very bad planes and in addition the curve after takeoff means that it flies over the centre of Brussels when turning to the left.

Yes — Brussels Airport’s Summer 2026 schedule confirms several new long‑haul routes, including fresh connections to Asia and North America. Notably, Air China will operate flights to Chengdu, and Air Canada will add Halifax, alongside other intercontinental expansions.

On long haul for example in C class the best food on all airlines is with Brussels Airlines....no doubts!
But that's only one criteria but anyway they are not bad in this class but again that's my opinion.

With all the current wars, is there a risk that Qatar or Emirates could go bankrupt?
Because they must lose millions....
Even when the war ends, it will take a long time to return to equal traffic levels.
