Can you imagine yourself driving to South of France and running out of fuel somewhere on the highway??? Of course not!!!
Knowing they burned less fuel on the way in (by comparing the actual burn versus their flight plan), they might be concerned about burning more coming back.

I think the Retard call is proper to new airbus and is just a reminder to tell pilots it's time to put thrust levers in idle position, in accordance with what the computer already did.

To Sabena_690

The low prices of SNBA are exactly the problem!!!

VEX is a low cost, it means that the organization of a flight should cost less to them than to SNBA (and I'm sure that's the case) ; and as VEX is actually losing a lot of money, I believe SNBA must lose much more money in that ...

Guys, don't you think that if VEX is having less pax in january, the same will happen to SNBA, as they fly from brussels as well???

Don't you think neither that if ,as you say, SNBA and VEX are having the same fares, than SNBA must loose a hell of money???

Those are bad news for everybody ...

To Dany VDB

My feeling (right or not, I don't know) is just coming from general info those companies are releasing, just wondering how SNBA with two times more aircraft and employees than VEX, but with more or less the same number of passengers could do it ? Except if, as we can see, their african ...

I guess both VEX and SNBA have to find an agreement quite fast : SNBA's european network doesn't look profitable to me and VEX seems to lose a lot of money in the fares battle they're having against each other.

But as a VEX's fan, I am not sure a merge would be profitable for VEX and I hope Virgin ...

Just a question, both companies having the same number of pax (more or less) and the same ticket prices (read post above), how could the yield of VEX be worst than the one of SNBA knowing that VEX has two times less employees and two times less aircraft???

The real question is how is SNBA doing this?

For info, Dakar is at the limit for a 800, depending on the wind, if you fly with full pax (189 in charter seating), you will have to do a fuel stop!
It's a little bil like flying Egypt with a regular 400, when you're not lucky, you do a fuel stop going down, and anoter one coming back. 8O

I agree with you but is it really a wise time (economic situation) for a company to change/renew painting of their aircraft?
I guess (hope) passengers are able to realize that the painting of the aircraft does not make it fly, as the one of their own car does not make it work better.
