I think BIAC considered a possible extension of Terminal A if sabena has survived and had continued to expand. This probalby why Terminal A looks "unfinished" on one side. However, extending Terminal A and making that extentions available to 9W seems difficult to me in practice since Terminal A is ...

I thought that the DHL building was supposed to make room for a new terminal 2 with a D-concourse almost all the way to Abelag

As far as I know, the DHL building adjacent to the terminal and parking area has to be torn down to construct the new railway connection and expanding the station.

I ...

Re: Jet Airways rumours

About the place for the new terminal, speaking "if", is that place of the former south pier not too small? If we speak about 10 to 15 daily long haul planes, B777 and A330, then I think this is not the right place. The planes are way to big to park there. Don't forget that the south pier was very ...

About the rumour of the new hotel, i heard the same today at work. So there must be something about it.

Let's hope that the rumour about the fast and huge expansion of Jet's operations in BRU is true. On the other hand, i'm wondering what will happen to Brussels Airlines? A take-over by 9W like ...

Downside is that CO (again, these are rumours) is considering to cancel their daily flight to Newark because JA's concurrence would be to strong.

Extremely doubtful. EWR-BRU is known to be one of CO's most profitable services.

Yes, you're right. I found a discussion on airliners.net where the ...

Isnt the old C-Pier a protected monument or anything ..? Anyway it would be nice to see it all fixed up!

As far as I am always told, only the satelite is a protected monument. I'm not sure, but I think even the bridges can't be broken down. Of course, this makes it ideal for low coast carriers ...

I heard some very promising rumours about JA in BRU... Since they are only rumours I didn't post them in this 'latest news' section, but in the civil aviation section.

I hope they are true, except the CO-rumour...

Jet Airways rumours

I've heard some rumours about Jet Airways planning to finance the construction of a brand new, JA-only concourse at BRU, because they are planning at least 15 daily flights at Brussels.
They also would be planning to cease operations at LHR, in favor of Brussels and are looking to build an own ...

Boeing vs Airbus

I am an airplane newbie and have some questions...

One of the most intriging aspects of airliners, is the concurrence between Airbus and Boeing.

What plane is the most expensive in comparisson? Boeing or Airbus and which manufacturer is best?

And wand 'brand' do you prefer. I have only flown ...

Well, I have a seen their ticket counter and, in my opinion, it is one of the finest at BRU, great colors...

Today they were preparing for the event of the inaugaural flight BOM-BRU-EWR, thoroughly cleaning gate B30 and delivering a lot of plants. They are expeciting much of it.

Does there exist a transatlantic A321 ?
Almost same size as the B757 .
Today I saw a AirTransat A320 leaving from Brussels to Toronto... Is that even possible.

And last month, the Brazilian president was here with a B737...

Maybe one of the established US carriers can start BRU-DET if it really was succesfull? I can imagine CO flying a 752 for the start and progressively expanding if the demand is there (752-762-maybe 764) or United starting a second flight. I don't think AA or DL will start a third route however.

And ...

I worked at the airpot untill january 2006. The reason why you could see the UA 763 at the first gates at the B-concourse is because they only parked there to unboard. Afterwards, the plane would be towed to a remote area and when the CO 764 left gate B40, the UA 763 would take it's place.

The ...

Zaventem expanding?

Wouldn' it be a good idea for some expansion at BRU? Especially according transatlantic flights? When I worked at the airport (untill january 2006) there were 7 flights to the US. CO, UA, AA (2), DL (2) and Bangladesh.

Now, you will have US and NWA added to the scheme, together with JetBlue, it ...

Continentals B777 in Brussel...

Gaat Continental enkel tijdens het zomerseizoen met de B772 naar Brussel vliegen (nadien terug B764) of wordt deze joekel een blijver'tje' op Zaventem?
