AF has secured excellent delivery slots for their A350s.
Most of the A330s being currently phased out were due to be C or D-checked hence the logical retirement decision.
As for the 777 fleet, at the moment they have too many 777 type rated crew (some of them were sent to KL this summer). Clearly ...

Other airlines do that too.
Therefore, an Air Europa B787 will be wetleased from Feb 22nd to march 15th to tackle the issue.

I was being sarcastic, of course, people have been ripped off to the core
. The former CEO used the new financial set-up to evade his responsibilities, and on that we agree.

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2025
Guys,
The cancellations aren’t always maintenance related, especially in months like January. It’s pure smart cancellations, low load factors, no cargo backlog… easy rebooking solutions (Ethiopian helps  )…
Other legacy airlines do that.
SN has now a much fresher fleet that it had 10 years ...

Isn't the Pope supposed to fly back to FCO with brussels airlines ?
I see EI-INE of ITA is scheduled to do so, the protocol says he gets back to Rome with the host country flag carrier. Am I wrong ?

I cannot agree more with what Crew1990 writes. It's all about survival. My niece used to fly for them (she then went to VS and now AF long-haul).
Maybe some of you are still in the late 90s early 2000s when young almost all Flemish junior cabin crew were perfect tri-lingual, better than the ones ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
According to a newer interview with Aerotelegraph the remaining A330 from LH should migrate to Discover.
So, let's see if SN's growth ambition may be fueled by external A333
If they maybe cannot come from LH itself, maybe from their other "partner" Singapore Airlines.
SN had in the past a few ...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
The most logical and economical solution for SN is the A339. It's a logical A333 replacement horse.
The main issues are:
- noise emission
- cargo capacity
In both cases the A339 is able to cover this. They can also go with triangular ops, which is ideal for their business model.
Range isn't an ...

It will not turn them away but it's bad brand image. Showing SN as a secondary airline of the group.
In meantime OS is seen better. They are receiving brand new B787 for their long haul ops. SN received a 19 years old A330 from LH.
LH is owning SN now already for many years. SN is/was seen as ...

THAÏ will come back in BRU in 2024 (I predict Q4), but no precise date is given yet as it's fleet availability depending. Many Belgian and Dutch major tour-opartors have been made aware of that in december 2023.
I think Atlantis knows it as well, but can't confirm I assume.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Just wondering why SN get the -251 series of engines and all the others LH/LX/OS the -271 series of engines on the NEO
Because Lufthansa is upset with their current GTF P&W engine issues, and haven't been compensated accordingly. Hence, the next 30 A320neo and next 9 A321neo of Lufthansa will ...
