I don't know where you get this info of 3000 euro for an FO and 6000 euro for a capt, but when I worked for Brussels Airlines not to long ago for a couple of years we did not have these kind of salaries.
However I get the drift of tax deduction in Belgium now, my apologies.....

Of what I remember from my school days, the cost of replacement of an employee in any organisation is one year of the gross salary of the employee to be replaced. I do not know if this is valid for aviation but it should not be far from that.

Did not say that either! Mr. Dieu in his time was a very successfully entreprising Sabena president, but he was not politically chosen (he was a an unavoidable war hero), while his successors were.

Looks like you're very sour, Corto  Some of us did like Sabena, but I think we can all agree to say it was always badly run. So, we thought the rotten tree (to quote you, did you mean sabena ?) was cut and a new one was planted (snba). But is the new already rooten, too ? Could very well be ...

Think outside the box. I gave you a suggestion already: The point that has been reached is of no return, for politics, with its corruption, nepotism, clientelism etc... is meddling in every aspects of aviation, not to mention the rest of the Kingdom's life, and has spoilt it to the point that it is ...

I realize this is quite a bit naive to ask, but after reading all your posts on the matter, this comes to mind:
Pilot shortage is a worldwide phenomenon, and that situation is not going to improve soon, unless the warlords extend their game westwards.

In my humble opinion, I think think that it depends on the number and serie of the aircraft. For example, the Airbus 290 was a lot better than the Boeing 706, until they came out with the 707. There is a good chance that the Boeing 797 would be better than the Airbus 390, but then we would have to ...

Unless I missed something in the organisations of companies in Belgium, Human Resources do not make policies, they just manage personnel according to policies implemented by the executive of the company. Consequently, I guess the accountability would have to be requested from somewhere between HR ...

LX, I am not answering your posts for your sake, as there is little chance that the stiffness of your, let’s say “positions”, is likely to be enhanced by any kind of sensible reasoning. You seem to be stuck in the concrete of your prejudiced ideas and not even worth the effort to be pulled out of ...
