Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Ryanair even have a Learjet on hot standby to transport crew, mechanics and spare parts around the network in order to minimise disruption.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
It may be a necessary commercial decision to address a chronic reliability issue, but it is not "normal," hence what did they do wrong to get to that point? Or do they have extremely bad luck? Aircraft do break down and do have incidents, you don’t seem to understand nor accept this. A sp...

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
Does anyone of you have specific questions they like to be seen answered ? Are they really planning on having an A330 hot spare at all times once the next aircraft arrives, and if so, what are they doing wrong? May I suggest Luchtzak NOT to ask this question in order to not make a fool of themselve...

You mean the latest LH tool in the race to the bottom of employment conditions for crew.oldblueeyes wrote: ↑29 Aug 2024, 08:37
It may be the case that for the coming years the net grwoth on short haul wouold come via Wet Leases from Air Baltic, as they are recruting for BRU and likely they would become a strategic partner for LH.

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-KJK-LGG-OST in 2024
Also, it seems obvious to me that he is well aware: the max. capacity can only be added when fuel tanks are completely empty. Which ought to occur rarely, only after certain maintenance procedures. Refuelling big birds is different from putting some gas in your microlight, Jan! Pilots don’t add a c...

Re: TUI Airline in 2024
I think that TUIfly Belgium is more prone to technical problems than other airlines, and I cannot explain it, other than the fact they are essentially flying with Boeing aircraft, which a recent study showed more subject to such incidents. You report issues on five aircraft of which three are Embra...

Re: Alitalia saved by the Government and reborn as ITA Airways
I don't mind flying ITA between LIN BRU vv. on a larger plane, but what bothers me is the decrease in frequencies to LIN. Why is the decrease in frequency bothering you? ITA and SN are flying more or less the same schedule, so less flights doesn’t mean less flexibility. Also, with a loco operating ...

Re: Alitalia saved by the Government and reborn as ITA Airways
As a consequence, SN will stop flying to Linate and concentrate on Malpensa. And here troll TiTa has a point: SN slots, on one of their most profitable European routes, are being sacrificed to facilitate the takeover of ATI by LH! Probably other group members are making even more money on LIN-route...

Re: Anomalies in BRU-ANR-CRL-KJK-LGG-OST in 2024
It looks like UAL619 BRU-EWR has to make a short stop in BOS. Plane had to make a fuelstop there. Due to winds and warmer weather, and with the loads (pax and bags) that day, it coudn't make it till final destination. The other option was leaving 20 pax and half of the baggage behind. With warmer w...

Re: Austrian Airlines in 2024
This is about flight OS627 from VIE to WAW operated by OE-LWA. The flight departed but after 15 to 20 mins the pilot said, only in German, that they were forced to come back to VIE. No further info from flight crew or cabin crew. By landing only police was standing, no fire brigade. On AV Harold I ...

Re: BRU Summer 2024: news, new routes, airlines
As the EU is trying to maximise the impact of existing sanctions by closing loopholes, I think it’s only a matter of time before aircraft overflying Russia will be denied entrance into EU airspace.

Re: Brussels Airlines' fleet renewal
At the risk of being insulted again, I just want to (wrongly of course) compare SN fully owned by the LH Group and SAS in which AF-KL have taken a minority stake at the end of last year and which will leave Star Alliance for SkyTeam on 1 September and notice that already yesterday SAS started fligh...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Correct. The many cancellations in the long haul of SN caused that the overal figures of BRU are lower. If it was not the case we had almost reached the figures of 2019. I don’t buy this cancellation excuse! Many passengers of cancelled flights travel a day earlier or later, with another airline or...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2024
Come on, remember in 2017 how you had to manage when SN had only ten (10) A330s at the time Lufthansa took over the remaining 65%. See all what has been accomplished in only seven years. No reason to be pessimistic, just be patient. H.A. Yes a good comment about Brussels Airlines. Pretty cool to se...
