Without any written or verbal evidence to support, I think the title "CX orders A380" is just a rumor at the very most. I personally spoke with CX CEO a couple of months ago on the subject and it seems A380 is something very very very distant for CX...

it would be much appreciated that more information about the "insider" who released this piece of explosive information. Even indication whether it is a verbal or written one can help to determine the validity...

In another occassion being questioned by reporters recently, Tony Tyler suggested that supply of airframes for the CX/CA cargo JV was "tricky".

However, my 2 cents would be rather on, in view of the global seller's market of aircrew, and given the current sour working relationship between cockpit ...

it is rumured from another forum (Pprune) that Qasis secured another 4 ex. SQ B744 recently.... no news on 777 heard...

i think Qatar is talking about the 30 787 being listed as Undentified at Boeing's site for quite some time already....

It seems the run of 787 orders continues... on top of the 677 firm orders announced till yesterday, following are heard from various channels:

1.) Virgin Atlantic: 8 (I think bits44 reported here)
2.) Royal Brunei: 4
3.) Singapore: 20
4.) Qatar: 30

With potential mega orders from DL/AA/EK ...

referring to last posting by tolipanebas and bits44, it seems to me that there is nothing wrong with bits44 because he is so nice/neutural by providing e-links, thus save us lots of time, to read some interesting news in vaiation wolrd, at least on this particular topic. I didn't see ...

The most unfortunately thing for industry observers/followeres is exactly waht you stated in last posting: "if" . And that is a very very big "IF"......
Nobody is certain/confident about AB anymore and its ability to deliver while iAB is right at the meddle/saga of A380/A350/Power8 etc etc...

Cannot agree more with bits44 last posting. Once a redundant employee of the avaiation industry a while ago, I just want both major manufactures to be successful and provide plenty of job opportunity.

it seems CX plans to retire/return their three A346 in operation to the lessor early 2008 after introduction of those new B773ER from October 2007. But.... if the offer from Airbus is attractive enough, who knows??

Unfortunately, in our not-too-perfect world, airlines (and their mangers) are short-sighted, cash-hungry, commercial and not-too-charitable organizations... downturn and/or difficulities of Airbus is NOT of their grave concern!!!

it's believed that 10 out these 17 orders are B747-8 freighter for Emirates that the LOI was signed a while ago..
