Sabena's second home market was Africa and if you compare the former Belgian national carrier to most of the former and current African carriers, I'm pretty sure Sabena was not so bad after all!! Sabena only had a very bad reputation in Belgium…

No they can't do that, because a letter is not a neutral symbol, so if the new name doesn't start with an "S", they just can't use the "Sabena-S" on the tail anymore. From a commercial point of view, it would be a very stupid idea to do so…

A short name? What about just "SN" or "SN.com"??

Advantages:
- the name directly refers to the former Belgian carrier "SABENA", very well known, especially in Europe and Africa
- they can maintain partly the livery and the famous "S" on the tail
- they can also easily keep the IATA code "SN"
