Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
This situation happened after the attacks ,and it is a compromise.
I'm not sure what the "drop zone" is; if you mean where cars can drop off passengers and drive off, you're right that the new location adds even more demand for the escalators/elevators. Still, I believe it's a net positive that ...

Re: Brussels Airport (BRU) infrastructure: future
I don't pass in BRU that much anymore; maybe that makes it easier to notice some things.
I noticed this month how dilapidated, disfunctional, and dated the "Nieuwe Terminal" is starting to look . Yes, notwithstanding its official name, it's not actually "new": I'm referring to the part of the ...

Re: Brussels Airlines in 2020
Happy that the European "fancy" branded fares are going away and will be replaced with the more serious branded fare structure of the LH Group, as it was always difficult to match booking class with the applicable fancy branded fare.

The decision was explained to the passengers as part of the implementation of travel restrictions to reduce incoming flow at external borders of the European Union as well as discouraging outbound travel of EU citizens and residents to reduce vulnerability against Covid-19.

Re: Swissport Belgium nv/sa bankruptcy
Swiss is a new client for them and most clients have some deviations in their handling procedures.
That's possible, I overheard the LX supervisor who also was on the flight saying there were "some issues" last Monday and that he was to observe the handling process, they seemed unhappy with some ...

Re: Swissport Belgium nv/sa bankruptcy
So I can't believe that there were 10 Aviapartner employees to handle 1 flight. ;)
We had 6 baggage loaders. On the pic you see 5, note to the left there are 2 close to each other with one obstructing the view of the other. The 6th one was in the cargo bay.

Only persons in orange clothes are working for Aviapartner and I don't see anybody on your photo
Well, the stairs didn't drive to the door by themselves, but the camera angle was to avoid faces as much as possible for privacy reasons.
Some of them were on the other side of the plane setting ...

This very ironic picture - and IMHO a picture that should be part of "BRU's year 2020 in review" - is Swiss' flight from ZRH today, greeted by Aviapartner, and immediately whisked to the farthest remote stand possible in BRU, even with several unoccupied gates ...

National Cargo 747 N952CA landing RWY26 at OST as we speak, flying in from ORD in less than 7 hrs, more than an hour faster than the United ORD-BRU flight this morning.

Jetairfly and VLM flight deck DVD's released
Hello guys,
Worldairroutes recently released two *very* interesting new DVDs covering Belgian airlines:

http://www.worldairroutes.com/VLM.html
The VLM DVD is excellent, really great coverage. I'm eagerly waiting for the JAF DVD to arrive .
