PS: wich airlines could be considered as low-cost at BRU this moment? -B-light (ex Virgin Express) ? -Sky Europe -Vueling airlines -Easyjet (soon) Please note that ALL Brussels Airlines flights offer B-light tickets ! No use in referring to B-light as "ex VEX". You can book B-light to all...

For as far as I know none of these airlines every did code-sharing with Virgin Express , and since it will be mainly the fleet op Virgin Express wich is now integrated in the Brussels Airlines fleet , wich will operate the B-flex flights with the B737 , I don't think the B-flex/B-light flights will...

They must be kidding - no seats, no toilets?!!!! Even Charleroi has seats and toilets! As does Warsaw Etiuda, even Beauvais - the worst low-cost airport in the world! If they want a low-cost pier why don't they copy Amsterdam's new "Pier H"...? Have you been to the H-Pier? when I was ther...

I heard yesterday that there will be an SNBA event for employees, press and travel agents on the 23rd of May, to show the refurbished (new C-class and new paint) A330 .

Vueling has not stopped their flights to and from MAD. They only reduced their flights from daily flight to 3 times/week. I think due a lack of aircrafts. It is possible that they will soon increase their flights because since the start of 2006 they received 2 brand new airplanes and 7 are on order...

All very well for Vueling, but does anyone on here know why they are already cutting back on flights to BRU? They seem to be one of these airlines that start up new routes and closing them soon after (BRU-MAD lasted barely half a year). Should't they let these routes some time to grow? ps are they d...

The traffic figures for March increased with 4,2% to 21.757. That's a very high % if you know that the eastern holiday was fallen this year in April. Not sure how to read your post: did March traffic go up 5.5% (as you stated in an earlier post), or 4.2%? In any case, a nice increase: don't forget ...

Re: The future of BRU: the new CEO Van Assche speaks

They are also looking for a new logo and name for BRU. The name BIAC will be disappear. What Van Assche meant by this, was that the name/brand of the airport should be made stronger: BIAC is the name of the company which sells a product. This product is Brussels airport. Therefore, on the website, ...

According to some airlines (in particular airlines without transfer pax), the fact that transfer pax taxes at AMS are so low, is meant to support (read: subsidise) KLM's hub operation. This is particularly true in security taxes: security screening is now done in a de-centralised way (at each gate),...

But you did mention a very good point: handling fees! Low cost airlines can cut back on many things, but they would still need to take on either FlightCare or Aviapartner for ramp & baggage handling at BRU. and their rates are a lot higher than at other European airports! A low cost carrier coul...

1) BIAC is asking too much handling fees As BIAC is not a (ground) handling company, it does not charge "handling fees". There is, however, a duopoly of some ground handling services (ramp handling, baggage handling) at Brussels airport, and the rates for these services at both Aviapartne...

I am not bitter, I just think SNBA/VEX should start rolling out their new strategic plan/direction/vision sooner rather than later. Last Biman flight at BRU

I heard today Biman's last flight via BRU would be on April 2. They are rerouting their NYC flight via the UK. Ofcourse, no-one's ever sure of when exactly they will show up... Would this last flight be a NYC-BRU-Dhaka trip? (If I remember well they do a Saturday Dhaka-BRU-NYC, returning on Sunday) ...
