A 25% cap on foreign investment in US airlines is nothing short of protectionism while most countries in the world have a cap of 49% or if you want a more liberal version look at Australia, a foreigner can own up to 100%.

The US is liberal in nearly every industry sector apart from aviation and the ...

A little birdie has told me that Wizzair does not have traffic rights to fly to Zagreb from London and since they are selling seats on a route that they are not yet approved to fly, I'm sure there will be a lot of news about this proposed service in the coming weeks. Especially when the UK ...

My understanding is that they did lease in a B733 aircraft and were about to get their AOC to start operations until the government decided to reject the application because one of the partners was a close ally and friend or something to Slobodan Milosevic.

In view of the more detailed information, its obvious that the airline will establish feeder services for its long haul North American and Australasian routes from surronding countries such as Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Austria, Italy, Germany, Hungary, etc. As for the national carriers of these ...

Obviously you have nothing futher more to say about this topic!
You DONT KNOW much about the travel market in OZ and ASIA either!
Jat is welcome to fly to OZ anytime, there is a market here for them!
Why should Australians fly with JAT and NOT with a Croatian private long haul airline?
Your comments ...

You know I actually think they would get high load factors on these flights as the Kurdish part of Iraq seems to be going through an economic boom. Although I can't imagine what the insurance premium for OS would be on these flights.

Building passenger aircraft out of carbon composites would definately be challenging and obviously years away. Production would be limited unless more than one, or a longer autoclave was constructed as the baking process usually takes about 24 hours to cure.

There is NO market in Australia for such an airline even from England let alone Croatia

This statement clearly shows your immaturity and lack of knowledge of the aviation transport business!!

By the sounds of it, you serbs think that ONLY Jat has a market to fly pax to/from Australia ...

Monthly Lease costs are calculated as 1-1.5% of the current market value for the particular aircraft, maintenance reserves are added additionally to the monthly lease rate and the price depends on how many monthly hours the aircraft will fly. Deposits: Previously in the 90's, airlines only needed to ...

Bluewings and the A332

I understand that Bluewings took on three Airbus A330-200 aircraft but have never used them and are currently stored at CGN. Is this true and where did they lease the aircraft from?

In reality though, how many tickets at these prices are available per flight? I'd say a handful, maybe no more than 30 seats per flight. On a low cost service, I would expect about 45-50% of the seats to be 50% cheaper, and the rest even cheaper. Afterall, a low cost service begins to make money at ...

Why so?

Because BTS is taking traffic away from VIE.

The price VIE is willing to pay is approx. six billion crowns, plus another eight billions will be invested in the infrastructure. This means whoever pays this amount will not be able to shut down BTS nor would it make any sense. Investing ...

Re: Easyjet gains 7,5 % in one day....

Sorry, some of us don't speak french.

I recall reading a story in Airline business I think and Stelios said that he wouldn't allow anyone to takeover Easyjet. In hiring new advisers, the deal is to prepare to fight the takeover, not sell out.

I read that TAROM want to fly back to N/America and Beijing. But i don't think they will go back just yet. They want to do it with 2 A310's. now, the cheapest ticket, off peak, to ZAG/BEG/LJU from MEL or SYD will cost about AU$ 1.500 (€900 - 1.000) ex taxes with TG/QF and SU. Add around AU$300 - AU$400 (€ 180 - 250) for tax. thats just low season. high season is around $2.500 (€ 1.550) ex tax with OS.

Where do you live?? Try $AUD2,000 ...
