fokker_f27 : You might be correct. I didn't do a rigorous classification by weight before I posted the airline planes I have flown in.
In response to you comment, I researched some wieghts in "The World's Airliners", which was published in 1982. Here are some results:

My first airline flight was in 1946 on an AA DC-3 from BUR to PHX. My age was 16. I was thrilled, not scared.
