Re: Ostend Airport - Latest news
TCX is TOM, so that's correct. But it is no regular, nor to become one. Sometimes those flights make a fuelstop in Ostend, when there's to much headwind. Fingers crossed that Flybe or Ryanair see the potential of a connection Ostend-Scotland.

Re: Ryanair growth in Belgium ?
You're right. The discussions about the amount of piss and vomit that Ryanair passengers would bring to the streets of Bruges must have put him asleep.

Re: Brucargo 2010: routes, news, cargocarriers.
What about the move of Egyptair Cargo from Ostend to Brussels? According teletekst lately there are still Egyptair flights in- and outbound Ostend. Normally, if rumours were true, ops should have moved to Brussels since April 1st. Or are they only performing the Global Aviation legs?

Re: Ryanair comes back to Ostend !
It seems like Jetair is reacting in OST. From July 2nd they offer flights to AGP, one of the two possible Ryanair destinations. AGP was not in the original summer schedule ex OST. Will they get the same conditions as FR? Let the discussion start...

Re: Brucargo 2010: routes, news, cargocarriers.
Fact is, Ostend is loosing its cargo traffic at supersonic speeds lately. Global Aviation, Meridian Airways and now its most faithful customer Egyptair Cargo. All in one month. Normally in the next months a decision should be made about the future operator of the airport but I get the impression ...

In fact, GAK moved its flights out of Ostend to Brussels since february 12th. Flights are perfomed by Egyptair Cargo.

Dear LX-LGX

To LX-LGX:
I really don't know how to reply to you, who is calling me and my colleagues overpaid criminals, real dangers, unable to cope with stress, even potential killers and who is defining our job as just sit back and relax. So I won't.

Re: Brussels Airport ATC strike between 1800 and 2000 LT today ?
Just imagine: you're in a plane inbound Brussels, the weather is shit which explains why your aircraft was holding for half an hour. Finally the pilots get the clearance to commence the approach, the aircraft dives into the clouds. After a few turns and a smooth descent runway lights pop out of the ...

Re: Local ATC in BRU to strike on 26 april?
I also remember Ueberlingen and indeed only one controller was handling a low amount of traffic at that time (but a lot of other factors contributed to the crash). This makes it even more horrific if you know that at this moment Belgocontrol's management is investigating if it's feasible to have ...

Re: Ostend-Bruges airport latest news
The drop in movements in april was caused by works, which made the airport unavailable for training flights for more than a week. Management of Ostend is off course still thinking that it's the only airport that is not affected by the crisis. One should bear in mind that they compare their cargo ...

Re: Ostend Airport - traffic figures 2008 YTD september
About the movements: the good weather in the second half of september resulted in an enormous increase in training flights. Most of the time there were four aircraft in the visual circuit while others were training their instrument approaches.

The fact that WOA is operating from Ostend now won't change a thing to the bad cargo figures. WOA is just flying the legs that were flown by Gemini Air Cargo before it went bankrupt. In Ostend they even consider themselves lucky that ANA Aviation Services, which is the sales agent for Allied Air ...

No 747, A300 or DC10 can land at OST for the moment as they are not able to make an 180 on the RWY. As RWY 08 is in use this turn is necessary to backtrack the runway after landing and exit via TWY A. Same thing when RWY 26 is in use. After backtrack to the beginning of the RWY an 180 has to be made ...

Found some more info: ACE is now also offering passenger services with 9G-BSM. The Tristar can be leased and will most probably be used for Hadj-flights.

ACE is probably foreseen in EBBR on oct 1 because EBOS will be closed for heavies for about three days due to works at the beginning of RWY 26. These resurfacing works should have been carried out last week but were postponed due to the weather. As they predict a lot of rain monday it's possible ...
