LOT Polish Airlines: On the ball for EURO 2012!

Ten LOT Polish Airlines airplanes are set to receive a special decorative addition in celebration of the fast-approaching European Football Championship, to be held this year in Poland and Ukraine. The initiative, conceived by the airline itself, will see the addition of a unique football logo on the rear fuselage and wingtips of the aircraft. Designed in-house at LOT, the logo echoes the style and colour scheme of the company's new graphics, which were launched at the beginning of April.

Last weekend saw the first of the planes, Embraer 175 SP-LIA, receive its decal and, on Sunday, it took off for Odessa flying the ‘new LOT livery'. The other nine airliners are scheduled to receive their additional graphic adornment by the end of May, in order to be ready to fly primarily between Polish and Ukrainian destinations from the beginning of June. In total, eight Embraer 175s and two Embraer 195s will carry the special logo.

The football logo to be flown by the aircraft has been designed to partner the new LOT Polish Airlines' graphics, which were introduced at the beginning of April and reflect the world trend toward melding national and folk symbols with modernity. In addition to the ‘LOT Football', the planes will bear an English inscription, reading Welcome to Poland 2012, on both sides.

The 'football feast' in Poland and Ukraine is one of the most important events of the year. It was patently obvious that LOT, which has served as our country's informal ambassador for many years, would take part in promoting it. The intriguing football motif on our airliners is bound to stir up our passengers' sporting instincts and spur their participation in EURO 2012, said Leszek Chorzewski, Spokesperson of LOT Polish Airlines.

The aircraft will fly the logo promoting the Championship until the end of July at the very least.

New touches to the LOT Polish Airlines cabin crew uniform

Postby sn26567 on 02 Jan 2012, 16:37

As befits one of Poland’s most widely recognised brands, not only at home, but all over the word, LOT Polish Airlines never stops working on its image. Having recently unveiled its latest livery, transformed its marketing communications platform, honed its Facebook profile and given Kaleidoscope, its in-flight magazine, an up-to-the-minute layout, the company now plans to welcome 2012 by introducing new touches to the LOT cabin crew uniform.

LOT aims to be at the forefront of the world’s airlines. The company thus continually works to improve the quality of its services, whilst never failing to apply its energies to the brand’s image as well. Amongst the many remarkable changes introduced in 2011, the rejuvenated livery, a masterly fusion of the traditional and the contemporary, warrants mention, as does the transformation to the company’s style of marketing communication, a measure which will both strengthen the LOT brand and build awareness on a number of markets, both domestic and foreign. Other noteworthy initiatives include the refreshing new layout of Kaleidoscope, the creation of the LOT YouTube profile and the honing of the company’s Facebook profile. With these changes now in place, it is time to move on to other measures aimed at further enhancing recognition of the LOT brand around the world.

As of 1st January 2012, LOT’s stewardesses will be wearing elegantly designed pillbox hats adorned with a metal badge displaying the wings of the LOT Polish Airlines logo, while the stewards will wear the same badge pinned to their uniform jackets.

The hats received their first showing during the ceremony marking Ethiopian Airlines’ joining of the Star Alliance,” said Leszek Chorzewski, the press officer for LOT Polish Airlines, S.A. “The stewardesses representing the LOT cabin crew looked elegant and professional, something emphasised by a number of representatives of the Star Alliance member airlines present at the ceremony.”

The pillbox hats that our stewardesses will be wearing as of 1st January 2012 have been made to a contemporary design created especially for LOT. Headwear, as such, isn’t a new departure as far as our cabin crew is concerned,” Dorota Haller, the airline’s director of marketing and product department, remarked. “It’s linked to the best of LOT’s tradition. Over the years, our stewardesses have been associated with chic, professionalism and worldwide fashion trends. And it’s just the same today. Our pillbox not only sets off their charm perfectly, but also adds a finishing touch to the uniform. And that’s exactly where the inherent strength of the LOT cabin crew’s elegant image lies. We are planning to introduce more changes to the both their image and the visual identification of LOT Polish Airlines in the spring of 2012.”

The headwear, together with the winter coats which made their appearance earlier in 2011, mark the start of the uniform’s makeover. By the spring, the LOT cabin crew will also be wearing classically elegant trench coats and new neck scarves. Moreover, the airline has announced that 2012 will see the introduction of further enhancements to its visual identification and to both its in-flight and ground product.
