In an speech in Turkey president Erdogan threatened to ban all Dutch flights from landing into Turkey, after the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavusoglu was disallowed entry into the Netherlands.
President Erdogan reacted in fury, and rather harsh:
They are the vestiges of the Nazis; they are fascists,” Erdogan explained in anger. “Ban our foreign minister from flying however much you like, but from now on let’s see how your flights will land in Turkey.”
Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavusoglu was disallowed entry into the Netherlands as the Dutch authorities feared “risks to public order and security”.
