A Lion Air Boeing 737-900ER (PK-LJZ) and a Wings Air ATR 72-500 (PK-WFF) clipped wings at Medan’s Kualanamu airport on 3 August. The Lion aircraft landed from Banda Aceh while the Wings Air ATR was awaiting clearance for take-off. The airport was closed for 20 minutes and nobody was injured. Indonesian aviation authorities are investigating the incident.
