For the first time since 2010 three hurricanes are now in the Atlantic basis. Hurricane Irma has left a trail of destruction across the Caribbean, the hurricane has been considered the strongest ever Atlantic ocean hurricane ever recorded. Irma is now battering the Dominican Republic and Cuba and has been predicted to head for the Florida peninsula; a hurricane watch warning was issued.

Meanwhile hurricane Katia has strengthened into a category 1 hurricane in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico, and has started to make a move to eastern Mexico. Hurricane Jose is heading the same way as Irma and is expected to become a major hurricane by Friday.
