An Antonov 74TK100 cargo plane was damaged beyond repair in an accident at São Tomé Island Airport (TMS), São Tomé and Príncipe.

According to a Ukrainian official, the aircraft suffered a bird strike to the no.2 engine on takeoff from runway 29 (2190 m long). The flight crew apparently aborted takeoff, but the aircraft failed to stop on the remaining runway. It went down an embankment and came to rest next to the perimeter fence. The forward fuselage broke just in front of the wings. The thrust reverser on the no.1 engine was stowed and on the no.2 engine the reverser was deployed.
