No more 757-300's for Thomas Cook

Post by Andries »

In english :
because of the low demand of seats, thomas cook will stop using the 8 757-300's operated by Condor. Also 3.200 jobs will get lost. This way the company hopes to save 676 million euro.Thomas cook would be looking at the possibility of leasing the aircraft to an other airline.

Earlier, I heard that 6 aircraft would have to leave, now it's 8 allready with the 757-300's leaving. Does anyone know if their will be planes leaving the Thomas Cook 'Belgium' fleet ???

A search on Thomas Cook gave me the following results:

- Thomas Cook says 340 jobs, 5 jets could go: https://www.aviation24.be/modules.php?name ... e&sid=1141

- Thomas Cook's workforce to be reduced by 1,200 in 2003

I think that strange things are happening at Thomas Cook...

Why would there be problems in Belgium, when TC Belgium must call in a reinforcement (757-200) from Germany (Condor) during the summer season?

The problems seem to be essentially located in Germany.
