Brexit-flight ...
Hi,
Was wondering about booking a brexit flight to the UK.
Leaving Saturday night, returning Sunday in thé night of brexit, 30 June... To be part of ???
I know nobody have a glass bowl of predictions...
But what do you think we can expect ???
Need to be back on monday morning for sure... But what if ???
Nothing special yet, ID/passport , complete chaos??

Re: Brexit-flight ...
There will normally be a vote in Parliament sometimes in January for or against a so-called "soft" brexit. I'd wait for the result before making any move.
In any case, I think ID should be good enough. The problem might be to find an airline allowed to do the flight.
Maybe Swiss or... via NYC or Moscow!

I can remember a similar plan a few years ago which didn’t work out quite the way we planned.

Re: Brexit-flight ...
Hi,
Haha... Indeed but it was great fun !
One guy got closer with his girlfriend friend ( I guess ), we saw Tempelhof and had a laugh about it for years! Still Remember it as a memorable wknd !
Besides... That trip is after all those years STILL not planable today !! ( Closure of Tegel and opening of BER for those which don't Remember what we are talking about )
But this time I am hoping for a 'controlled' chaos but I can't gamble that much on being ' taking hostage' for days..
And I don't wait for the vote in a week because I know it will be a NO and a hard Brexit...
But then...
It wil be An interesting time for sure...
Any volunteers to join ? Avgeek brexitness...

You guys should read the dedicated topic more often, and particularly a recent post:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=58787&p=375982&hilit=brexit#p375982
It says literally:
"The Commission has today adopted two measures that will avoid full interruption of air traffic between the EU and the UK in the event of no deal. These measures will only ensure basic connectivity and in no means replicate the significant advantages of membership of the Single European Sky. This is subject to the UK conferring equivalent rights to EU air carriers, as well as the UK ensuring conditions of fair competition.
A proposal for a Regulation to ensure temporarily (for 12 months) the provision of certain air services between the UK and the EU. A proposal for a Regulation to extend temporarily (for 9 months) the validity of certain aviation safety licences.
The Commission has also adopted a proposal for a Regulation to allow UK operators to temporarily (nine months) carry goods into the EU, provided the UK confers equivalent rights to EU road haulage operators and subject to fair competition conditions."

Re: Brexit-flight ...
I guess I would join you just for the sake of taking a piss at the Authorities .
One has to understand the crazy-type insanity that moves GB to exit one of the most successful Economical unions of all time!
Let’s leave because.. The Portuguese, Spanish and the Polish are stealing our jobs.. to find out 2 days after Brexit that nobody will be there to do the jobs Britain didn’t wanted in the first hand.
What Itinerary are you planning? Heathrow – Schiphol and back=?
